This week the UTD Podcast spoke to Ji-Sung Park all about his incredible journey to Manchester United, which involved starting football at a late age, arguing with his parents about wanting to play and even going on hunger strike to get his own way!
Ji reflected fondly on his special years at Old Trafford and his close relationship with the fans, but he had a request of the United supporters - he asked them to stop singing his chant which has offensive connotations to the people of Korea.

Always admired Ji-Sung Park's humility. The man excelled at the most prestigious club in British football, winning big trophies yet always carried himself with modesty.

I can tell he was appreciated. I was 19 when I saw Park play against Liverpool with the winning header. My ManU supporting fans loved him

He was one of my favourite players when he was at the club, he's always come across as quite a humble guy (not a common attitude to find in football let's face it)
Fergie said recently he regretted not playing Park against Pep’s Barca in the CL final. He admitted that he thinks Utd would have won had Park been playing. Guy was underrated massively!

2011 Barca beat Man U but the game JS Park is talking about is 2008 final I think which Man U won… I think we mixed up things here. About 2008 Fergie said it was hardest decision he had to make to leave Park out of the side. About 2011 he said he regrets not putting him to man mark Messi. Two different games

Fair play to Ji-Sung Park. He isn't going full black and white saying it's terrible now and always was - he shows some nuance about how he's proud but it's difficult because of the racial element, being new to English football and it being a different time. Very well said sir.

Many superstars have come and gone from this great club but deep down in my heart, Park was always my favourite player. Fergie always started him in the biggest games because he could trust him. I was always so proud when I saw the pre-game lineups and Park Ji-Sung was starting in the midfield. No disrespect to Rooney, Ronaldo or any others but Park was the BUSINESS. Hope you see this buddy, you were the best. Love from Australia
When Park steps on the field he probably wasn't the best player, but I can guarantee he was the hardest working. And that is why he is my favorite player. If you ask him for 100%, he would give you 110% and as a fan, there is nothing more you can wish for.
Park Ji-Sung is nothing short of a legend. A true icon for South Korea and a tremendous player. Absolute soldier on the pitch and a gentleman off of it.

that's a myth, I watched the clips, Park was great, but Pirlo was still class in that game
That game is probably the most often mentioned nowadays with Park but it probably wasn't even in his top 10 best performances at Utd.

There were some dog meat restaurants in the past in Korea. And now, there might be a few in country side markets. But policy makers recommended the restuarants shut the business and distribution chains. Most Korean love dog and have friendship. We don't eat friends. :)

My favorite player when I was a kid. He and Evra since I often played at the back or midfield when I played football. Park and Carrick reminded me of what I could be. Scholes too but i never managed to do those kind of passes haha.

I understand where’s he’s coming from but it’s clearly banter and the United fans love you. Definitely in my top 5 favourite United players, born in 92 and introduced to football at age of 6-7 so dont attack me for my choices but in no particular order..... Ji-Sung Park - Van persie - Scholes - Berbatov and then Nani the day real madrid knocked us out the champions league and he got a red card.... cough cough ref got paid, seriously tho these players made United a joy to watch you never knew what theyd pull out the bag.
