The red button is a pressure relief valve, so when youre done with the dishwasher, before removing the adapter from the tap, you press the button to release trapped pressure, which will stop it from spurting a little bit as you take it off :) thank me later

Hi FYI to not get that spush when taken off the hose when done is shut off water then push the orange button that will release the extra water in hose and like you said hold top of faucet and take off hoses. Hope you try it and like this tip

I use to feel the same way. I’ve been homemaking for 20 something years. I personally created an Amazon birthday list and this dishwasher was #1 on my list so, it’s definitely a gift worth having so I don’t have to was all the dishes by hand.

Great video!. Bought this for my mom has this also and she says it’s amazing besides the limited space hard to wash pots but it’s awesome. She says she even uses a lot less water. Good purchase though. 👍🏻

Hello! I recently purchased a second hand, very similar dishwasher machine, I’ve been looking for it more than a year ago and finally got it like a month ago around 1/3 of its commercial price! I have read the manual (PDF version as it wasn’t included), easily 4-5 times in order to get the most of my dishwasher. It’s not the same brand as yours but everything inside looks exactly the same... a few tips that I can share with you are: they don’t recommend those dishwasher pods, but the powder (maybe yours it’s different on this), there is a little recessed part on the outside of the detergent dispenser lid, and you can add a little bit of powder there (of course also inside the dispenser, according with the cycle), for a light, normal and heavy cycles to pre-wash the dishes with that tiny amount, BUT it makes a difference in the dishes! Also, the tie-in assembly (or quick connect as referred on the manual) tip someone else gave to you already, is important for safety reasons! Remaining water on the drain hose can be very hot and cause light burns, and well, who wants to be soaked? turn off the water and press the red button before pulling the tie in assembly off. Another tip is, do not use hot water from the tap. I did this the first 2-3 times I used it and after reading (again) the manual, it specifies not to. It is not necessary... the machine does it itself. And also, I noticed one time when I turned the hot water (involuntarily), at first the water comes hot but it goes cold after a few seconds... I guess it’s something related with the pressure or I don’t know... but probably every time you do it, it goes cold as mine! So it’s pointless. I put the hoses aligned behind the faucet so I have no loops on them, I have the idea that a loop in a hose prevent the water to drain properly. Also, after a cycle ends, the manual suggests to not open the door right away, but to turn the machine off, turn the water off, bla bla... and allow 5-10 min to open the door to avoid water stops on your dishes and glasses! What I do is, allow around 10 min, open it about 1-2 inches and let the remaining hot steam inside help to dry out the dishes quicker! 1 hour after, most of the dishes are completely dry, and then I can put the dishes away. They also suggest to always let the door open about 1 inch to help air dry the remaining water sitting on the bottom of the dishwasher to avoid mold grow on the seals and stuff, that prolongs the life of your beloved helper... Anyways, I hope those tips helps you! I enjoyed your video!!

Always use the hot water from the tap. Using hot water from the tap is way more efficient than having the machine have to hear it from room temp. Plus, you get hot water right off the bat, instead of the machine washing the dishes for the first 10 minutes while it heats the water it's pumping around.
@@littlejackalo5326 It's actually way less efficient to use hot water from the tap. In doing so, the hot water first has to come all the way from the boiler, losing a lot of energy to heating up the cold water lines. All the cold water that had been sitting there is now being warmed up in the dishwasher, while a load of steaming hot water is left sitting in the pipes to cool off again, wasting all that energy yet again. Also, most of these small dishwashers use 5 liters of water at the most. So, in most houses, the actual amount of hot water that makes it into the machine is small or none

I almost bought one of these countertops. Ended up buying an 18in wide portable. Wheels into narrow galley kitchen perfectly. Love it! I think powder detergent is a much better deal for smaller dishwashers than pods

Oh, and also ordered the Pur Water Filter for the faucet because I know there are minerals in the water here that will age a dishwasher quickly. There are videos that show how to hook the Pur Water Filter (and other brand water filters) up between the faucet and a portable dishwasher. Thank you for your great review which made me feel at ease about this purchase. I didn't get as good a deal as you though. Mine (the white one) was listed at $419 on Amazon. The stainless steel color was listed at $409. Thanks again. 🌿

If anyone is having their dishwasher have the glass icon blinking and won't start any new loads, tilt the machine 5-8 inches up on its left side to drain the water out. Make sure to have a towel or two.

Just so you know - that is way too much detergent for this size of dishwasher. Those pods are used for full size dishwashers (and even then it's a little excessive). Also, the little indent you see on the top of the detergent dispenser, is meant for a small amount of detergent in the first section of the cycle. That detergent is used to get a bunch of grime off, and use up the little amount of detergent you put on top of it. It will get washed out in the first cycle. The second cycle will use whatever is INSIDE the detergent dispenser, and get used for the entire rest of the washing cycle.
A youtuber by the name of Technology Connections has made an absolutely excellent video on dishwashers, how they work and how to use them correctly (with demonstrations, the dude literally cut a window into a dishwasher to get a bunch of info on it's cycles and stuff). I recommend looking into his video.

That sink connection is so cool! I have an RCA portable washing machine and my biggest pet peeve is that I can't use the sink at all when it's hooked up (but other than that, I'm so glad and grateful to have it. I'm surprised this dishwasher was almost $300. My portable washer was only $180 brand new).

I’m very curious about the 8hour delay feature. As it be ideal to set up before I go to bed or while I’m sleeping. My question is do we leave the water on for the whole 8hour? Or does it have a “tank filled up option”
Ggrab Thank you for the kind words. :) I think it could be used for four/eight hour delay before going to bed or maybe a time right before dinner. Something of that sort. It only takes a little under an hour and a half to do the cycle, so I’ve never used it yet. I wish it had a tank fill option. If it does, I’m unaware. I need to read the manual a little more. I’ve always had to have the water on, so I’d imagine you’d need to have it turned on if you set the delay. Thanks for your comment!
If you set the delay and then go to bed, the water pressure will be against your faucet all that time. Do you really want that?

For the water source, I think you don't have to put to the hot water side, the machine will heat up the cold water by itself.

Dude, you have a side sprayer on your faucet. The side sprayer's hose and diverter are not meant to survive municipal water pressure; they only see the back pressure from the normal aerator. When the dishwasher is filling with water, there's no problem, but as soon as the inlet valve in the dishwasher closes, your diverter and side sprayer are seeing full city water pressure, typically 50-100PSI. Don't ever leave that machine unattended. Don't use the Delay Wash. Please. Your faucet will eventually break and you will flood your neighbors. I wore a Moen jacket for over 15 years, and that looks like a Moen faucet. Moen is amazing quality but no faucet is meant for that pressure on the side sprayer or pullout spout.
I l*love* the dishwasher, though. I have many of the same issues as you - including tamper-proof aerators for which I have a key (but where's the fun in that?) - and do not wish to violate my lease or put myself at risk of causing a flood. Washing dishes by hand is as stupid as washing clothes by hand - we have machines that do it faster, cheaper, with less water, and better in every way. I just need to figure out how to adapt such a machine to my circumstance. I will share my solution with the CZcams community.

After just one full day, on the weekend, I noticed leaking from the side sprayer and thought to myself, "This doesn't seem like it's holding up to leaving this on. So, I turn it on, use the dishwasher, then turn it right back off. There is leaking from the sprayer. A very very small amount , but boy! - I would absolutely HATE it if it blew and I wasn't home (costly and embarrassing). Again, I appreciate the comment because this is good for all others to know about. Definitely not keeping the pressure on after use. Lastly, I don't like delays on anything. I've never used it and don't plan to. :) Look forward to your solution for your situation. Thanks!
@@JonnyGuns I've seen people in some religious communities who demand a bidet attempt to attach kitchen sink side sprayers to the shut-off valves on their toilets. I can't imagine the pile of adapters required to connect a proprietary thread pitch to the 3/8" ID compression fitting on most North American toilets.

But one guy managed to do it.
While he was on a pilgrimage to the Middle East, the side sprayer's hose burst and did water damage to the 17 floors beneath his condo. He and the condo board tried to sue Moen and the Home Depot where he bought the parts. They were laughed out of court, and his insurance refused to cover the damages to his unit or the many below him. It bankrupted him.
A countertop dishwasher or aerator-connected washing machine or other appliance would be in a similar situation. If you're renting, ask your landlord to change the faucet to something without a side sprayer or pull-out spout. And NEVER leave the water on with the machine unattended.
I'm glad your leak wasn't devastating. Where is the faucet leaking now? Moen will send you a replacement part free of charge. Don't tell them you had anything connected to the aerator. :)
@@JonnyGuns I intend to install the dishwasher so that it has no connection whatsoever to the building's plumbing, unless I can get my landlord to write an addendum in my lease. Clean dishes for only 12L of water and the promise of a tenant investing money in something that will reduce the risk of pests should be enough to convince a landlord, but whatever. My lease specifically forbids anything connected to the plumbing - and for good reason, see my condo bidet horror story.
My background is in electronics. I'm thinking of using a vessel in the sink with a 12V submersible pump to fill the dishwasher, instead of the existing inlet valve. There will be refinements, but my back-of-a-Subway-napkin sketches and ideas might have to add a beeper to tell me when to get up and turn on the hot water faucet. Of course, a mechanism to turn on and off the hot water faucet becomes the next logical extension... No mods to the building, but a friggin' robot hand on the faucet. Now I'm into Doc Brown crap. :)
It will be good, it will be practical, it will be safe, and it will work. And it will not violate my lease. I'll keep you posted and share a few videos on CZcams.

I just can't wash dishes by hand anymore. It's as stupid and pointless as trying to decode a JPEG picture with a pencil and a piece of paper. If a machine that does it faster and better and more efficiently than a human is available for an affordable price, let's remind ourselves why we love machines as we go to the store. Let's remember why we have pictures of cars and why we choose fun hostnames for our servers and why we fondly remember our first bicycles.

I realize I’m four years too late to this conversation on the off chance that someone can help; give up there’s a delay setting and even an hour later when he opens up the dishwasher to check on everything being clean the water is still going at that point.if I were to set my dishwasher for a delay does that mean that it’s just on and running the whole time?

Sadly, the pods have issues with dissolving completely if you put them in the normal detergent spot. I switched to liquid dishwasher soap/detergent and it's still going strong! 🙂

How long is the wire to plug in?
What are the diameter of the plates that you all use? Do you wash your plates in this or only cups and silverware? Are you able to put your plates up right or do you have to put them at an angle?
Good morning! Our plates are at a minimum of 10.5" (26 Centimeters) Some of them are weird diner plates that are oblong, which fit nicely as well. Yes! You can fit them upright. Some really large plates you have to angle, but for standard stuff it's pretty darn good. We do everything in this washer. Plates, glasses, silverware, glass pans, a pot or two (that's about what fits, two smaller pots) plastic cups, and a nice assortment of larger silverware. Some plates do bind up and trying to put the wire tray back in - I'm bad and muscle 'em in. Only downside is there's probably scuff marks on the top. Let me know if you have any more questions or ideas. :)

I'm able to get two medium sized pots in there. Maybe on the smaller side to be honest. When we put our pots in there it actually cleans them in one round. Sometimes I don't see the pre-rinse my fiance does, so maybe she's really cleaning them up beforehand. Only issues I've had with heavy duty stuff is fish skin. That baked into a glass pan takes some extra effort to get off. :) Did you end up getting one?

Apart from the Cascade pods, have you had the chance to use other brands of dishwasher tablets at all to see if there's any cleaning difference?!! I've just moved into a small unit here in Brisbane, Australia, and it doesn't have a dishwasher so this type of thing would be perfect!!!
My fiance has tried several different types and they all have seemed to be about the same - which it's been great with all of them. I haven't tried the liquid stuff yet. I've been advices, in the comments, that these are more designed for liquid/paste detergents rather than the pods. Another tip someone gave me, here on this video, is to throw the pod in the silverware compartment instead of the actual trap door applicator. It's been great overall. Literally have no complaints and my fiance loves it too. Definitely worth the cost. Sadly, I don't think you can get this model on Amazon at the moment. I think there's some other good models, but I'm unfamiliar with them. I wish you the best of fortune with the move and getting a new unit like this! :)

So is your facet constantly running while it's connected?
Yes, it is! A lot of people have recommended that you only have your faucet on when you're home. There's a chance, over time, that the main line water pressure will pop off or damage your sprayer (if you have one). In the last three years of using it, we've had leaking problems with the sprayer. After a while the pressure breaks it down, so we have to pull it out, wrap a washcloth around it, and lay it in the sink. It was semi broken before. I'm too cheap to buy a new faucet with moving out in the next two months and I couldn't be bothered to have the landlord/maintenance in the apartment. :)

I would say so. If you could get plumbing to the back of it, then use the correctly fitted soft pipe to finish the connection, I'd say you could leave it right where you wanted it. Just so happens it's all pre-setup for sink stuff. I would have to do some research on what threading the machine takes and all that stuff, but I can definitely see this being a permanent install in certain situations. :)

Hello, can someone please help me? How would I get my faucet to be compliant with the hose that you hook up for the water supply? I apologize if I missed it in the video, but I think I saw that the faucet was already ready and I don’t know how to get there 🤷♀️
It will come with the attachment that you need to thread on to your existing faucet. You'll probably have an aerator already threaded on, so you'll have to unscrew that and put on the attachment that comes with the dishwasher. You might need a vicegrip and a cloth so you can get onto the aerator without scratching it to break it free. Take a quick look at faucet aerators to see how they're installed and how to take them off. :)

how does it work with the faucet on the entire time? Does it not end up using a ton of water? I saw that you still had the faucet on long after your dishes were done. What happens to that water?
It only pulls what it needs. I remember the manual saying the total usage was somewhere just over three gallons. When it has enough water it shuts off the internal valves. I just keep the water on the entire time so I don't have to pay attention to when the intake cycle happens. As soon as I know it's done I turn off the water. No extra water is used if I were to leave the faucet on. A gentleman mentionrd not to leave the water on at all afterwards. The side sprayer isn't designed to handle longer term pressure from the main water line.

@@athay14 No issues whatsoever - So far. We had a leaky spray nozzle on the right, but that was like that before we started using the dishwasher. There's a gent in the comments that mentioned that some faucets you need to be careful of. I never leave the water on after a session is over. Only on for the duration of the cycle - then off and disconnected. :)
I bought this dishwasher and have run it about 20 times now. I always let the tap water run hot before starting the dishwasher but it seems that by the time the rinse cycle starts, the tap water is running cold again. Does this dishwasher have a water heating element? I'm guessing I received a dishwasher that was previously sold because even though it was perfectly packaged and no physical damage, the Rinse Aid cup was full. 🤔
Huh! Maybe the forgot to empty it out at testing before packaging. Maybe a new guy on the job lol. I wonder. Yeah! It heats the water itself. After I found out I just leave it on cold. I did the same thing for like the first half a year I had it lol. Kept testing from hot, warm, and cold and it was still hot as heck when only using cold water. :)

It is! Did a wash last night. We have had ZERO issues (even after it got banged up in shipping haha). We use it every two days, or every other. It's been a great little machine.
