- Today, I'm going to build a simple solar system using a 100-watt Polycrystalline panel from NewPowa, a tilt mounting bracket from Renogy, 20 feet of cabling, and a power station from ECOFlow.
Why solar?
It started with my sixth-grade science fair project in the early '80s when I learned the basics of solar technology. For my project, I created a solar system where I could shine a flashlight on a small solar cell (maybe 2" by 1" in size) to power a single LED.
My interest in this technology pushed me to revisit that science experiment again, but instead of a flashlight, I’m going to use the power of the sun; and instead of an LED, I’m going to attempt to charge a laptop and power a stereo system.
Let's see what happens next.

Come down to Arizona and set up my home with solar power - we have lots of sun!
Thanks for the insight.
