This deserves more attention Edit: just finished the whole run, that was awesome!! You did this all with the self imposed ruleset as well which I do think just goes to show how preparation can be cut short if you make up for it with skill, and Wigfrid only reinforces that with her efficient nature. (Weaponized Warble, healing, etc.) I wonder how much you can hold off on other bosses until champion is done, allowing you to kill them much faster with the help of infinite crown summons. EoC and Malbatross come to mind imagine if you saved them for last to obliterate with the infinite crown strat. Overall great run CatPerson. You did a great job in editing really making the fights climactic with your choice in music and story telling. You have the most underrated don’t starve channel in my opinion!
Hard part about waiting on bosses till after you get crown is that the earliest you can do it is in summer as you need cacti for pearl tasks. So then it's crab king, storm tasks and then CC so earliest is like maybe day 60-65 that you could kill CC. which only leaves last few days of summer then first 3 days of autumn you want to be on mainland surface to spawn beager if going for the fastest possible run. The slightly faster combat wouldn't be worth delaying bosses. But that being said. For a more casual run it is fun to have CC as first priority and then use it's crown against everything else

That’s pretty awesome to see the boss speedrun reach the theoretical hard cap, being Bearger. At this stage to get faster you have to basically get lucky with an early spawn, and also kill bearger asap. Using gunpowder to insta-kill him is probably a valid strat
Nice work brother, your music choice is gorgeous. Also you seem a lot more honest, humble and skilled than some other speedrunners out there, hope you steal the scene.

I never considered using Wigfrid before but wow, she seems really fun! I think I will improve my skills with my go to character(Wolfgang) for now, but this was quite an entertaining run. Much appreciated
Nicely done. I only recently killed all the bosses as Wormwood. Just took me 1250 hours to get the nerve to do it. I must say Ancient Fuelweaver is really difficult when you aren't use to it.
the real day of the run is day 78 for toadstool (since bearger time doesnt count) I think jakey's re-rework wolfgang is day 77 though for non bearger finish both runs insane
The biggest timesaver in this run was probably not farming or making crock pot recipes. In a Wolfgang run this could have saved 8 days if you didn't make food.
that is AMAZING :O! it mustve been a big shock to have accidentally set that record huh? those tiny stipulations of not needing to heal/use crockpots and gathering food from bosses/as you go probably helped a lot yea? along with that amazing sea luck! i'm not a speedrunner myself by any means, however, i AM a dirty dirty wigfrid main >u> so! if you're ever looking to improve on this run in the future here are some notes that might help you out... heartrending ballad is OP but you already know that, but when it comes to other songs use the belcanto on deerclops unless you want to farm nightmares afterward. weaponized is great but you don't NEED it need it, just wait until you use your sewing kit a few times before making it if you dont have the materials. that beequeen strategy was amazing! simple but effective :D if you ever do a multiplayer speedrun as wig, however, you might want to consider using startling soliloquy as an extra song to have in the back, its great to use with a wendy on your side. if youre ever in a pinch and need low sanity and have some on you, raw frog legs are your best option food wise. if you ever get a lucky frog rain during a moose kill for example, you might be able to save them with a bundle for celestial. honestly though, bone helm seems best. great choice on the toadstool after celestial, toadsy is super easy as wig. even without the crown you would have been fine but it helps lots!

The bee queen fight felt a little cheesy since its not that hard to kill her if you put the grumbles to sleep 20 times lol. I only say this because I was interested in bee queen strategies since I find her to be one of the most difficult bosses to solo if you don't play wendy.
I wonder how fast if could be with the fridge/thermometer set piece and if that change to winter could speed things up or if it bugs out some seasonal bosses

Honestly the restrictions to some degree helped him because healing and crockpots tend to waste time If sombody tried this same method bot using crockpots for the most part but didn't pass on easy healing they could probably be even faster

But to be honest though I'm heavily curious how your survived with only cooked meat (unless you started putting cooked webbers in your diet) With that said congrats on taking the WR from jakey :b
By meat I meant all kinds of meat: monster, morsel, drumsticks and bat wings. I only avoided cooked bat wings because it heals for 9 and that would be kinda cheaty :P And thank you hehe
I guess he just means it always connects to the mud biome, which if he got a sinkhole in the mosaic mushroom biome, you'd have to trek through that plus the guano biome before you reach mud biome. From there the lichen biome is connected to mud so you should find it easily.
Yeah, Wigfrid you're basically always encouraged to kill the Fuelweaver if you're doing the Celestial Champion. It takes a lot to just not be insane for that fight.
I hate when I find interesting videos just for there to be music time lapses, it ruins the whole video for me and I would prefer if it was just straight cuts, or like a 30 sec clip with just game audio.
It's interesting to see such a variety of people who either really enjoy the music in the video and the low energy of a long video like this, or they'd rather an unedited clip of a guy freaking out and spamming all of the keys on his keyboard during Crab King lol. I would be interested in both I think, but the music choice is really good.

Probably. It is just a terrible strategy for Ancient Guardian, Celestial Champion, and Klaus. Either they attack on a very short timer or dish out several high damage attacks in quick succession. Either way, it's not even the intended way to fight them and the cost is not justified.
Wigfrid hate might be the most sweatiest thing ever. Mfs are truely mad that strangers just want to play with a character in a game they paid for just because its not the epic speedrun megabase perfect character. This community is small but surprisingly toxic.
Maybe a few years ago this might have been true, but this isn't really true anymore. Nowadays, people are just much more skilled on average and no longer influenced as much by meta-obsessed CZcamsrs like Edgy Rick to be affected by that stereotype.
