I remember my friend had just died and I was torn up about it, another friend had a flat bed truck and he put on Tom Jones and we danced on the back of that truck for hours! Been lucky enough to have seen Sir Tom live twice. Best was 2016 at Byron Bluesfest when he was a mere 76 ! Blew the roof off the big top 👏 had a couple of young Aussie girls next to us who didn’t know him at all (Shame on their parents !) they were groovin to Sir Tom and said “Jeez I wish my grandpa was like him” 🤣 He was pure energy, emotion, voice and class. This guy was a famous pop singer, in the 60's, with the most bluesy tenor voice ever; who sang a few serious tunes, and women threw their panties to him, onstage. That was his schtick, and he was famous for that. He never recorded, or even sang live, any kind of gospel song. Here it is, 60 years later, and the guy sings like a preacher, has all these gospel songs, duets with Allison Krause, a Christian singer/songwriter, and I'm listening to this man, who is not that 60's pop star anymore. He must've gotten saved somewhere along the way, which is news to me. It’s almost impossible to believe that Tom was 77 when he recorded this. Surely no other 77 year old has ever had such an amazing voice. Tom is undoubtedly the greatest singer that the UK (if not the world) has ever produced. A living legend.
This was Written by Leonard Cohen Released in 1988 I heard him sing it in 2013/13 I’m Welsh seen Tom. Live in front row Blackpool Tower Ballroom when he first returned from America when he thought the dry cough he got from Vegas was forever , it now means he keeps special throat Lozenges either side of inside his cheek ,s He sings it well but I be honest Leonard Cohen sings it better he passed away 2016 , Tom is one of the most incredible voices , & I’m so glad he found way to control the almost constant cough , He is a Great & Proud Welsh an long May he sing , My favourite , 1 is The Green Green Grass of home , old but perfect for his voice.💌

Been lucky enough to have seen Sir Tom live twice. Best was 2016 at Byron Bluesfest when he was a mere 76 ! Blew the roof off the big top 👏 had a couple of young Aussie girls next to us who didn’t know him at all (Shame on their parents !) they were groovin to Sir Tom and said “Jeez I wish my grandpa was like him” 🤣 He was pure energy, emotion, voice and class. Drive In movies and Tom on the AM long long before FM. And the women who were some of my moms Neighbors and Friends all got hot when Tom said pussycat.8 track player was the pass of passes when those women let me have at it. This guy was a famous pop singer, in the 60's, with the most bluesy tenor voice ever; who sang a few serious tunes, and women threw their panties to him, onstage. That was his schtick, and he was famous for that. He never recorded, or even sang live, any kind of gospel song. Here it is, 60 years later, and the guy sings like a preacher, has all these gospel songs, duets with Allison Krause, a Christian singer/songwriter, and I'm listening to this man, who is not that 60's pop star anymore. He must've gotten saved somewhere along the way, which is news to me. By the way, he looks the same, except for a few years, and the silver hair; and that rich melodious, bluest tenor is still as fine as it always was. He rocks! Even now, a bigger fan!!!!
