The last part, from 0.29, is not very nice, it is overdone and exaggerated, not elegant and not maintaining the calm elegance of waltz. The top line and the arms are a bit bad.
The first part of the video was much better. The last part shows the unfortunate side of WDSF ( a bit wild dancing), as compared to the WDC´s elegance. and calm. (This dance couple is the professional champions of WDSF.)
H. C This would have to be the first time where I fully agree with and endorse your comment 100%. If you have a final with 6 couples dancing in this fashion it would look an aggressive mess and I'm not sure the general public would pay to see it in huge numbers. I'm not against this new development, but this couple way over do it. So does Mirko and Edita. I suspect they are the ones at the forefront of this development. Over technique at the expense of dance artistry I believe will be the demise of this sport.
IMHO they seem to be deliberately showing over job as an up to date trend.
@@KarelianBoy I dont see it that way. If you watch their general performances it' s exactly the same, infact even more so. This is their style which WDSF is rewarding on the comp floor, so it will be emulated by others because in WDSF this is what they want and this is what wins. I quite like these scooping actions used as highlights or to add moments of impact on occasions,but when overused the dance become visually aggressive, hard and frantic and looses the beautiful calmness and elegance of ballroom, particularly Waltz and foxtrot.

I have to agree with Yat Chow. It is acrobatics Waltz and sadly branded European. Her neck Position in uncomfortable to watch from the beginning. Yes, amazing flexibility, totally unnecessary and out of control. If the viewers are uncomfortable that says it all. It's like watching a circus act. Will she fall? will she break her neck? oh she's still smilling..
Last few seconds she totally disconnected her rib cage from the leader. At this level it should look effortless but it certainly doesn't.. Be careful when people are looking up to you.
For start she is on her toes. It goes down hill from there. Its very sad that this gets rewarded in some circles. It is just plain ugly.

You are right. During the preparation step the lady stand on the toes. In general this is not a mistake. Some couple dance the preparation step using the big toe. In this case the strange thing is that the man have flat feet in the same preparation step. One of the two dancers make a mistake
