- Franklin "Frank" Reynolds (aka: The Warthog) is the father of Dennis Reynolds and Dee Reynolds, and the ex-husband of Barbara Reynolds. Frank also lives with his apparent biological son (and ex-husband), Charlie Kelly.
He is a member of "The Gang" that owns and runs Paddy's Pub. He used to be prim and proper, but after he divorced Barbara, he let himself lose all convictions and live with no moral compass or decency.

Calling in a bomb threat at the police station as your one phonecall when you're arrested is the single most cunning thing frank could have possibly done
I've been debating in my head if that would actually work
@@TheWyman55_ Lmao my dude, in real life they record every single phone call you make in a prison. they read all your mail, check all your packages, you have 0 privacy in literally any way.
@@AMediumSizedKodiak you're not in prison yet tho, you're only at the police station. Regardless of recording the bomb threat, would they still have everyone leave the station like a real threat?
@@kellynolen498 thanks for the advice

wait a second there for legal reasons my earlier comment was a joke lol please don't these are outlaw tactics just call a lawyer
actually real advice if you can't get a lawyer friend at least keep a lawyer card in your wallet so you can pull it out when the need arises you would be surprised how man people suddenly treat you better when you have legal aid my brother in law is a lawyer and just by confidently mentioning my him my employer found time to fix the issue not paying a me 2 paycheck it should have been dealt with immediate literally not paying me for my work
ps not as effective if your look or sound poor because they won't believe you
DeVito is an absolute comedic god. 40 years into his career he joins an ensemble of fresh young unknowns on a dicey project and they go on to crush it for well over a decade.
The crazy part is that the producers forced the gang to take him on after shaky ratings in the first season. They didn't want to but they had no choice.
Turns out the producers made a good choice.
I’m not entirely sure what the lesson here is, but there’s gotta be some sort of lesson
@@CaptainTrips560 lesson is Danny DeVito, thats all
@@jakej2680first season was definitely a learning curve
@@jakej2680In their podcast, they actually talk about how his daughter, Lucy, convinced him to do it. She seen the first season, met with Rob and said, “I’m gonna get my dad to do this”. He watched the first season, thought it was funny, and with his daughters push, he agreed 🙂
Seeing frank go from a down and put businessman to an absolute maniac has to be one of the biggest character swings in TV history
It always amazes me how effortless DeVito makes it look too. You genuinely believe his character could go from Dennis and Dee’s bitter, divorced business dad to the crazy, toe knife wielding, canned wine chugging monster he is now 😆
I don't know. I'd say Rickety Cricket might be bigger. Successful clergyman to street rat.
@@thomasb1943 true
Frank was always a degen, but the gang really brings out the worst in people.
@TrollToll of course he was. But he wasn't a complete degenerate until he joined the gang. He did a lot of shitty things, but he lived in a mansion and took care of himself. He didn't live in squalor having sex in trash cans and playing under bridges until he joined the gang.
The episode where he decides to get "real weird with it" is golden.
The episode where he exists is golden.
@@einzelganger6664 truly
It should be in the national archives
The gang gives Frank an intervention
And when he rolls around with his boy Pondie
his excitement over Mantis Toboggan is so pure.
He's got the AIDS big time!!

I always thought it was hilarious that he thought of it right on camera. Dr Tobaggan... 😃 MANTIS Tobaggan!
I can never stop laughing about franks wolf cola plug at the baby’s funeral
hear hear
Wolf cola......it's the right cola, for closure.
@@samuelmarkert3524 out of context that sounds so incredibly bad

The restaurant scene, DeVito needs to get an award for that performance.
“You whore!” “Did you bang my wife heh? “Did you bang my whore wife?” 😂 he’s a legend
I mean, if I learned the same information, I’d probably have a similar reaction
Yo literally one of the best scenes of all time. Hes such a good actor.
@@happyproduction4209 "jesus frank, jesus frank JEEEESUSS frank"
ya that was great acting
“Captain Tom turned out to be a goddamn junkie” might be my favorite Frank quote of all time.
To be fair he stole it from Bowie
@@fakegmale4648 That was Major Tom. Although he was a goddamn junkie.
Having worked as a tour boat captain and with many others, they’re all drunks. Everything else gets tested for, even steroids.
Captain jack will get ya high tonight ~
2:38, if anyone wants to rewatch it.
“I’m breaking her down, making her feel worthless. Then I slip in” lmao
This works. Any guy worth a shit has tried this and succeeded
2:18, if anyone wants to rewatch it.
"No more thirds for Franky, seconds from now on" lol genius. When you're so low on the totem that just a bit above low is success.
“I dropped my monster condom for my magnum dong” is definitely a contender
When he busts in with his gun out like he's gonna shoot the fire always slays me
“INTERVENTION!”
LMAO
*click* WHERE’S THE GODDAMN FIRE!?
In defense of Frank, the way Barbara said that story made her sound like a sociopath, now I know where Dennis gets it from
For real. Dennis definitely takes after Barbara in the sociopathic department.
Yeah, Barbara comes off as someone with a sociopathic mental illness like anti-social behavior disorder
When does she NOT sound sociopathic? She's like one of the only people in the show that can reach the gangs level of moral depravity.
@@NA-AN i like to think that Frank was a normal person before her
@@CaptainTrips560 She married him for his money, which he only got through his unscrupulous business tactics. Probably but it's your head canon.
“It’s not grease, it’s sap!!” The delivery of that line killed me. Frank is the best! 🤣
You can tell Danny DeVitto loves playing Frank.
"I don't know how many years on this earth I got left, I'm gonna get *REAL* weird with it. Meanwhile, block the wind I'm gonna roast this bone"
I swear Danny wandered onto set one day and everyone just went with it
Um, he kinda did, if you hear the story
This is precisely what happened, actually.
Frank Reynolds is the embodiment of who my dad was before he died. I shit you not, my dad had a friggin toe knife. We used to watch sunny together and laugh at all the ways my dad was like frank. God damn I miss that old man.
Damn I’m sorry man… Rest In Peace I bet your dad was the best.
RIP to your old man, I call my old man daddy davito from time to time, also reminds me of him.
@@coreyjackson3462 thanks man! Also, Daddy DeVote? That's hilarious! Totally wish I thought of that. Lmfao! Cheers brother.
@@jdhorror you too boss!
Sorry for your loss. My dad reminds me of Danny Devito as well. Sounds and looks just like him.
Danny DeVitto is an amazing actor he is a true icon.
The man is a national treasure . . . including his movie appearances .
He actually burped beer foam up into his mouth. That’s committed.
6:08
it always amazes me how in this scene, you can hear Frank swallow the beer, then he gargles that shit back up
That's an actual thing that happens when you chugging too much beer you end up burping and burping and the foam just comes back up
@@cloudsombrero hahah you’re right huhh it’s so easy to burp beer out when you’re drunk
You know you can hold liquid in your mouth while swallowing right? Use air pressure to create a pocket and swallow that. It makes you burp too.
Coulda been dubbed
as many times as ive watched that episode i never thought of that😂
2:25
The whistle after he exclaims “then I slip in” is so goddamn perfect
Frank Reynolds reaction to realizing his life was a lie seemed actually quite justified, particularly at 14:11
"Hi hole life is a lie!"
That was the point of no return for Frank before he officially began his downward spiral into "Frankenstein"
The warthog at his best.
One person does not like The Warthog
5:22 the fact that Mac and Frank have been walking for 5 miles and Frank had no idea he was there 😂
It's called being blind drunk. No idea where your at, and you won't remember shit the next day.
It's cool they brought Joe Rogan in to play pure hairless Frank.
6:20 I love how grossed out the guy in the back is, yet he still takes a sip of beer
Lmao i never noticed that
Isn't that Mac's mum?
@@immanueljotham6018 no lol
"I musta climbed a tree" Speaks to me most
"Where's the goddamn fire!?" **cocks gun**
8:57 I love how he stops and contemplates for a second before making the call
The delivery on “bomb threat” was perfect
The Gang Gives Frank an Intervention is my absolute favorite episode. Soooo many good quotes.
My wife will still punctuate a silence after something heavy with “Meanwhile, block the wind. I’m gonna roast this bone.”
“My Hoowere wife”
“…..meanwhile, block the wind I’m gonna roast this bone.”
"would you like to have been aborted?"
Dennis looks off in wonder 🤣
Idk why but Danny’s sweatshirt barely staying on during his restaurant meltdown is so funny to me
At 4:09 when it cuts Frank is standing in the same place in the frame like he just transition straight to the next scene seamlessly
Mac’s look of disbelief after Frank’s proposal to Donna at the funeral is so great
"The fun ones" *mugshot of OJ*
Frank Reynolds and George Costanza are the two best characters ever created
The cross over we never knew we needed but now demand
*Frank Costanza.
@@YaowBucketHEAD SERENITY NOW
I feel like Frank Reynolds is like the evil mirror-universe opposite version of George Constanza who has none of his neuroses and just does whatever he wants
Despite any of Franks character flaws, I still really feel for him when he finds out "his" kids aren't his (well, not just "any" of his flaws, but "all" of them.) Much sympathy Frank.
It kills me when they're playing charades and he just keeps guessing Oceans movies 😂
“No.. Yes, he is your father” lol such a psychopath, brilliantly written and acted
"I just want to be pure" Was the first thing i saw of Its Always Sunny
"I just.want.to...be pureeee" hands down craziest moment of any live action sitcom.
"My life is a lie! My life is a LIE. SOMEBODY'S GOTTA GET STABBED"
Perfectly healthy reaction. I think any one of us would reach the same conclusion.
Hands down one of the greatest actors alive and in my opinion the funniest show on television.
I want to "adventure" like Frank if I ever make it that far in life. Inspirational.
Restaurant freakout is epic.
Frank is Danny’s best work.
without a doubt
"I don't know how many years on this Earth I have left. I'm gonna get real weird with it." That's the correct mindset.
Frank's spirit animal is Oswald Cobblepot.
No hesitation, no surrender
No surrender no surrender
Ah Shieeet!
I surrender
"okay you get one phone call"
"911 what's your emergency"
"I want to report a bomb threat"
4:53 "Then when I come back, we'll play some games! So nobody goes nuts or nothing" 😂😂
The acting from Danny DeVito is impeccable, hahaha
How can you not include "Can i offer you a nice egg in these trying times?"
I just noticed Dennis makes a face like he's really considering whether he wishes he'd been aborted or not.
If Frank was in a post apocalyptic world he'd become this massively powerful lord. He has almost no morals, a brilliant knowledge of scams, manipulation and how business works, and a amazing capacity for violence and underhanded moves. If it was in Zombieland universe he'd charge people to live in his kingdom where he uses zombies as guards and sets them loose on people to get more customers.
14:13
And at that Moment, Franklin Reynolds became *Frank* Reynolds.
Thank God for wolf cola to wash down these troubled times.
Truly one of the greatest actors of all time.
6:55 I don't think I could ever get that take without laughing my ass off.
I wonder if that initial shot was done without the gang nearby, it looks kinda sus
So many emotions went through Frank in the last scene that his heart just couldn’t take it.
Lmfao
“What happened to captain Tom?”
“Captain Tom turned out to be a g**damn junkie”
2:37
10:52 this scene is unadulterated comedic genius
Can we talk about how dennis just pushes that old lady off screen? lmao
2:12 lmao never noticed he just pushed the old lady
7:32
"ah shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiet"
"Meanwhile, block the wind, I'm gonna roast this bone."
Charlie is like genuinely the only non-narcissist
9:11 No matter how many times I watch this scene I always bust a gut laughing.
bald Frank looks just like Joe Rogan lmao
Joe Rogan when he takes too much DMT
It just dawned on me that everyone on Sunny is teetering on the edge of insanity. Fitting. And Mr. DeVito is so naturally funny. Hilarious!
"I AM NOT BANGING MY SISTER"..everyone is dead silent looking at Dennis. I laughed so hard I had to get off my computer.
I think Franks insanity not only steam from his age but also he one of his first appearances on the show to learn he raised someone else kids for 30 years, I think he's justified
Yeah, that was his first really unhinged moment. When he was rootin tootin in his apartment like Yosemite Sam.
This show wouldn’t have been even half as funny as it is if it wasn’t for the genius that is Danny Devito.
“Dead dog from the alleyway. I was compromising!” Is still such a great delivery for an episode long build up
3:40 "at times like this, I like to quench my thirst with a delicious Wolf Cola" 😂
“Did you sleep with my HOOR wife”?
“Dennis, your mother was a HOOR” 😂
Riverboat Captain Frank is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
14:00 this is the moment when frank reynolds becomes heisenburger
DeVitto is an international treasure.
i love how the nice and plesent calm music plays after franks colaps...
5:22 is probably my favorite frank moment
SAME!
“Captain Tom turned out to be a goddamn junkie!”
Frank has an explenation for everything, on the fly. Just roll with it.
Great scene choices. Some of my favorite episodes as well
lm usually not a big fan of the"slob" characters but Frank is just pure comedy
3:39 The running gag with Wolf Cola is amazing😂
The scene at the end when they all leave him on the floor is so God dang funny
Danny DeVito is a national treasure, really mean it. Such a great actor, He does drama really well too, one of my favorites has is"Jack the bear".
Hahaha I love this man. I’m so happy we have Danny to do comedy
I love how at 4:20 frank has a dooby in his hand
Pulls out a gun “where’s that god damn fire?”
13:08 This is the moment Frank Cracked.
At 6:00, the directors were probably like “Hey Danny Devito, remember how you were in Batman Returns? Yeah just do that….”
I think more than anything I just love the conversations. Nothing in particular happening just them leading the scene with these insane conversation that is somehow said with an entirely straight face.
EXCELLENT compilation!!!🤣🤣🤣
People think that Danny should be the voice of Wario if he’s in the Super Mario movie. Picture Wario saying and doing all of this stuff. 🤣
Lol Franks saying he's ready to plow w his magnums made me spit my good on my screen literally
I think Frank could be a great Villain in a DC movie
He was the penguin in Batman Returns
Mr. Devito is a national treasure....Thanks for the upload!
JESUS!? Jesus Frank? JEEEESUUUS FRANK???!!!
gets me every time when he burps up the beer lmao!
