- We've been on several Carnival Cruise ships and today we go over 10 ways to save money on a Carnival cruise ship. Carnival Venezia was our last cruise, and we really enjoyed it as it was a transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to New York City. Don't get left behind doing your own excursions. The ships will not wait unless it is one booked through Carnival.
AARP members can purchase Carnival gift cards in $100 or $500 denominations at a 10% discount. Very easy to download your discount codes one at a time and then upload them to your Carnival account. Wish I had found this out before I had my future cruise half paid for!

If you have a land based casino reward card, send it to Carnival Fun Match. They will send you much better offers.
I will be on the Venezia Jan 23 10 night cruise with a free balcony, free play, and free drinks on us. I have never sailed on Carnival and they sent me this offer after I sent them proof of my MGM Gold card (which isn’t a very high level on MGM).

I did the same thing for an Alaskan cruise for 2024 and my wife and I haven't sailed on Carnival in 15 years. Saved a ton of money.

You are so correct about the Carnival Mastercard. They offered me $200 statement credit for opening an account and every Carnival purchase qualified me for redemption rewards. I just redeemed $400 statement credit for a cruise I purchased in February!!!! 💰
Of course, if you're not a drinker dont do the drink package. I save money by doing the drink package. I have seen my first night bill, I would die if i did that each night.

Is there a limit to how much non-alcoholic beverage you can bring on board on day of embarkation?
You can bring a 12-pack of canned or carton soda &/or juice PER PERSON (NO bottles- plastic or glass)
Carnival stock. I bought 100 shares in April 2020, and it's still down.
But it gets you OBC for Carnival and HAL and Princess, etc.

They also call sometimes. They recently reopened their call center that handles special offer upgrades (had been closed since the pandemic started) and we got a call recently with an offer to upgrade. We have usually gotten offers via email to my husband's VIFP account.

We figured out we spend under $500 for 2 of us.
These ships make lushes out of people with all this liquor. If you don't do that at home, why on a ship?🤔😐
I live in the Nashville, TN area and MILLIONS of tourists visit now and quite a lot of them getting totally wasted. And if you think cruise ship drinks are expensive, try buying them on Lower Broadway in Nashville...
