Just got most of the brassicas transplanted -- just before a spot of rain. Here in western MA. Still lots to do:)

Beautiful farm that you have Diane! From Richmond, Virginia in suburbia on a small lot but I still manage to garden. Zone 7. I mostly shade garden as we have big oak trees around us. Have a small green house where I start plants as early as February. One spot where I can have a small veggie garden. Tomatoes, cukes, mostly!

So nice to have a small greenhouse isn’t it? Sometimes just to get out of the wind…🤣

Hi Diane, Thank´s for sharing your experiences. In which part of the country are you living??

Hi Diane, in Virginia zone 7a. This year was probably the latest I've ever started the garden beds. Didn't plant everything until mid to late May, and surprisingly the seeds sprouted nicely and thriving. I wish we had more rain, too, but God provides and I supplement with filtered tap water. Do you use rain barrels? I like the house plants you've rooted with plain water! Nice! Sometimes I use rain water to water the indoor plants and the plants respond VERY well. What are your thoughts on using rain water for indoor plants?

use humidifier water on my more sensitive plants and then I wish I did have rain barrels something I’ve been thinking about but just haven’t got it set up. It would be a great idea so we are getting rain today. Nice little rain, so I’m happy about that I don’t have to water.

@@dianemummvideos I really encourage using rain barrels if you can. Have you noticed how the plants respond to rain water versus municipal water? I walked over to the gardens after a rain the previous day and the plants had grown several inches! But after using filtered municipal water, the growth was only minimum. May I share some thoughts about using rain barrels? If possible, install them as high as you can. This will help with force & gravity when using a garden hose to empty them. After emptying, turning the barrels upside-down and allowing them to dry completely will help keep algae and mildew in check. Use a little bleach water and cheap mop to swish around the bottom once in a while - this helps keep them fresh and clean and your plants will like that. If you can't empty them for a while, use a floating mosquito disc. I hope this helps :) Thank you for sharing your little farm with the rest of us. I enjoy watching garden videos very much and I've learned a lot. I've been subscribed to your channel for quite a while now. your friend, Kelley
