Hope those kids appreciated Selena's performance . They probably had no idea about the level of fame that she would rise to , or the legend that she would ultimately become . I've been a huge fan for 19 years , but I never got to see her in concert , so I consider anyone who did to be very fortunate , because they literally saw musical history in the making . No one ever will, or ever could, replace Selena, who had an incomparable combination of talent, charisma and class. Her music is pretty much all I listen to, and I don't even watch the Grammys, because if SHE can't be there, I couldn't care less about them. If some of today's artists can win 3 or 4 at a time, she'd need a whole other HOUSE for the number SHE'D have won by now. And, she was one of the finest people who ever lived, in general. She showed 'em ALL what a true artist is, both musically and class - wise. Unlike so many of today's so-called "artists" - many of whom she actually outsells nearly 22 years after her passing - Selena didn't need to be vulgar or raunchy on stage, or engage in scandalous behavior off stage, to get attention. She got it the old-fashioned way, by being incredibly talented, phenomenally charismatic, and far more humble and charitable than most famous people these days could ever DREAM of being. She truly loved her fans, not just their money, and for her, music was not just a profession, it was a passion - something that's evident in each and every song. I saw SELENA Y LOS DINOS first time in Amarillo Tx, she was about this age. I got her and Suzzettes autograph, then I saw them 2 more times in Colorado USA, and the Last time at the Colorado State Fair, 6 months before her Passing. In 1995 I was too young to understand who she was... didn't even really know or heard about her but now watching the old videos and researching her life, what an amazing soul and talent. My Queen in her 80s fashion! I see why they called her the Mexican Madonna. It wasn't that she was rebellious like Madonna, it was her sense of fashion ahead of it's time and also her innovation and her powerful voice transcending the tejano and Latin barriers. Sel was an international star, she was meant to be. A duet with Whitney or Celeine Dion would've been so epic!!
Just think.. Back in the day when they were starting out, Selena used to dance for hours. I knew Selena used to loose her voice sometimes but i never realized the lengths they went to to try to save her voice. Not until the Series. Now i believe she also used the extra dancing to save her from singing so much. And of course, she was great at it but her poor little feet had to hurt. Then go get on a cold or hot bus with no seats or beds. Talk about dedication. How old was she here? 16 or so. At 16, i was wild. Boys, parties, you name it and Selena was riding a bus for months, to sing and dance for hours for little money for years before she made it. Just WOW!!! 🌹 Sadly she hadn't quite made it far enough for me to know her. But oh how i wish she had. As much as i loved the movie because without it, I'd have never found her, i love the new series more. To see just how great her struggle was, how much the whole family gave up because of their dream and because they believed in her. To me, it's just beautiful to actually get to see. No, it's not her but i can dream can't i? Just.. Can somebody tell Christian to have a baby or eat more. That girl needs to gain some weight and Pete needs a trim. Lol. Other than that, I'm hooked. SO talented, cool, and classy! Unlike so many of today's so-called "artists" - many of whom she actually outsells nearly 22 years after her passing - Selena didn't need to be vulgar or raunchy on stage, or engage in scandalous behavior off stage, to get attention. She got it the old-fashioned way, by being incredibly talented, phenomenally charismatic, and far more humble and charitable than most famous people these days could ever DREAM of being. She truly loved her fans, not just their money, and for her, music was not just a profession, it was a passion - something that's evident in each and every song. I truly can't imagine my life without her music in it, the inspiration she has provided for me, or a world untouched by her very existance. God bless Selena, our queen FOREVER!

I got her and Suzzettes autograph, then I saw them 2 more times in Colorado USA, and the Last time at the Colorado State Fair, 6 months before her Passing. Wow! SELENA was amazing talent! I never knew until I started watching more and more of her. In 1995 I was too young to understand who she was... didn't even really know or heard about her but now watching the old videos and researching her life, what an amazing soul and talent. Selena does a leg thing in another video that I saw and it just dawned on me that J LOL used it in one her concerts/videos.
They had no idea of the future megastar playing for them that night. They didn't know how lucky they were that Selena performed for them that night.

My Queen in her 80s fashion! I see why they called her the Mexican Madonna. It wasn't that she was rebellious like Madonna, it was her sense of fashion ahead of it's time and also her innovation and her powerful voice transcending the tejano and Latin barriers. Sel was an international star, she was meant to be. A duet with Whitney or Celeine Dion would've been so epic!!

Just think.. Back in the day when they were starting out, Selena used to dance for hours. I knew Selena used to loose her voice sometimes but i never realized the lengths they went to to try to save her voice. Not until the Series. Now i believe she also used the extra dancing to save her from singing so much. And of course, she was great at it but her poor little feet had to hurt. Then go get on a cold or hot bus with no seats or beds. Talk about dedication. How old was she here? 16 or so. At 16, i was wild. Boys, parties, you name it and Selena was riding a bus for months, to sing and dance for hours for little money for years before she made it. Just WOW!!! 🌹
Sadly she hadn't quite made it far enough for me to know her. But oh how i wish she had. As much as i loved the movie because without it, I'd have never found her, i love the new series more. To see just how great her struggle was, how much the whole family gave up because of their dream and because they believed in her. To me, it's just beautiful to actually get to see. No, it's not her but i can dream can't i? Just.. Can somebody tell Christian to have a baby or eat more. That girl needs to gain some weight and Pete needs a trim. Lol. Other than that, I'm hooked.
