Hello Friends! Buddy here again with another Lord of the Rings themed build! As many of you know I've been a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings movies, ever since they came out when I was a kid. In fact, they are the main reason why I became a propmaker!
This has been on my "to-make-list" for years, but the shape has been intimidating, so I sat myself down and was like, just do it for gods sake! So, I listened to myself and it turned out great!

How do you make the patterns from the pictures?
Thanks! With use of a lot of paper. I always try to pick something in the design that's unique (like the nose guard / eye area) and start there. Then using paper, I cut and tape pieces together until I get a general shape that is heading in the right direction. And then, refine the shape with more cutting and taping. I don't show these steps, because they look very messy and chaotic 😂. I guess it probably seems a little odd, but it's the way that I learned to take 2D images and make a 3D object.
