How to Uninstall Programs through Command Line

- This method shows how to uninstall the installed program through command line argument, when traditional method does not work. Many times we get some weird error messages while uninstalling the software. So by using command line you can easily remove them. But its always recommended to go though the GUI.

I had a program called "RealDownloader" that was installed randomly and I couldn't find it on Control Panel (I suspect it's a malware) and it kept popping up whenever I try to close. Your solution fixed my problem that I've been having in two weeks. Subbed

Many thanks for this. It allowed me to completely remove all remaining traces of Office 2010 32bit after uninstallation. Then I could successfully install Office 2019 64bit.

Return value 1603 means that there is a problem somehow related to your OS architecture. One such example is running a 64 bit program on a 32 bit machine.

i got return value 1603 and program in there list they not be uninstall ....

the app i want to remove is listed in control panel however it shows zero in terms of MB's. in programs x86 the program is listed and shows that hundreds of MB's are contained. when i follow your video instructions the name of the program i want to remove is not present. a real head scratcher. any thoughts? tx!

First, I uninstalled them using the control panel uninstall program and they are successfully removed. And even in the program registry's folder and sub folders are deleted. I also used iObit uninstaller to remove the remaining components of the license and they are entirely removed as you can see in the 1st & 2nd image link.
Now, I want to use the command line from you video but there was a problem. I have attached the link of the image below related to the uninstalling a program through command line. But before that there are two AutoCAD LT 2018 (1st & 3rd item) & AutoCAD LT 2019 (4th & 6th item) appearing in the command PRODUCT GET NAME like what you can see below;

I followed the steps in your video and successfully uninstalled but the 3rd and 6th item only. I tried again to remove all but it is says "ReturnValue = 1612"

At some instances , am getting a return value=1603; what does it mean. Any solution to this???
I didn't find my program in the command prompt, yet it still shows in my Task Manager. Inside the Task Manager I cannot stop the program I want named Webroot. Webroot appears in the laptop start up still.

GREAT STUFF! However, after I installed ChessBase Reader 12, notoriously crashing software realised after I installed it, it's not just crash itself, it also crashes to restart blue screen when opening all other softwares say pdf. When I try to open control panel to uninstall it, again it crashes to blue screen. when I try to use your cmd method, once the pop up comes out, it crashes again. I am so frustrated, please help.

Did not work on windows 10 trying to remove itunes I can utilize GUi but was wanting something quick I can utilize when uninstalling the same software on multiple computers..

Everyone! FIRST Make sure type in MSCONFIG in search and on TASK remove/ disable the program so that it's not running while you are trying to uninstall. Then use TECHNO MATH procedure because it does work! Unfortunately, I used IObit Uninstaller first before seeing this post lol. Anyway, I would like to thank Techno Math for taking his time to post this solution :--))

It probably runs on the computer, you shall check on your task manager if the program in question is running ,and if it does , shutdown the program and retry.
