- Vans go missing on the Kipper, and Henry thinks Percy is to blame. The little green engine puts on his detective cap and sets out to prove his innocence.
Henry and Percy as a character pairing is one I'm surprised isn't done more often. They bounce really well off each other. And Percy is always fun as a protagonist.
Plus repurposing the Monsters Everywhere/Tale of the Brave motifs for Percy sneaking around like a detective worked far better than I hoped.
The script for this story was written over a year ago, and was meant to be my little summer project for 2017.
Only I didn't finish it, and then life got hectic, and I simply stopped having the time to work on it. Suppose that's just the way things go.
It's here now though! And probably wouldn't have been possible without all the the idiots I know called friends. ;)

I just love this so much. The comedy and story is brilliant and interesting without sacrificing realism. I wish the show had clever writing like this. Also Percy's adorable.

An endearing episode from start to finish. You're absolutely right; Henry and Percy generally don't really get much screen time together. Usually Percy is more likely to be contending with Gordon or James. All in all absolutely brilliant and well worth the wait; it was nice to see an episode centered on them!
Thanks man! It is usually the least common character pairings that can end up working out the best! Forever some of my favourite moments from the classics are them interacting in 'A Scarf for Percy'. :D
Yes that was a brilliant moment; Percy might be cheeky to Henry but they do have a friendship to a point. One thing I also remember is in "Whistles and Sneezes" Percy was kind to Henry and tried to comfort him after what Gordon said. :)

@@Damocles178 Percy was only seeking justice for Henry, not out of pure kindness and friendship. Meanwhile, Henry told the foreign engines that were talking with Percy to f*ck off because they were in HIS shed, he immediately believed that Percy was proper enough to plan the deputation despite how nervous Percy was about it. Percy was cheeky to him back in Percy Takes the Plunge.
That turntable scene was really... is inspired the right word? I really enjoyed it, plus the balance between seriousness and gags (especially with Percy) and the well-rounded story was all rather nice!

Holy shit was this good. Brilliant work, I love the interactions between Henry and Percy, the use of the angles when Henry talks Percy down is something that really reminds me of TGR, and definitely the way you the camera in railworks (trainz could take notes).
All the same you once again deliver a brilliant product, I defenetly hope to see more in the coming future, keep up the smashing work.
ikr, why is it that so many fan-made episodes are so much better than the real series? (season 21 was quite good to me though.)

Yeah, but this somehow feels like it could be in the show, cut down a bit of dialog so that it fits the 10 minute time and you legit have a perfect episode.

This is fantastic and I am happy to have been a part of it - I like the interplay between Henry and Percy, as well as the clever cuts and jokes. Though, I will say, it is weird seeing that Percy model with someone else's voice coming from it haha :P

Your Percy reminds me to much of the classic series Percy excluding season 7 and 6 where he was more cheeky and funny instead of being timid all the time you really hit the nail on the head with all the characters personality’s especially Percy’s

I love everything about this, the visuals, the voice acting, the music and the sheer greatness of the story itself. Combined, this is just too worthy for words. And yes, Percy and Henry pairings should happen more often (I expect there are gonna be a few videos inspired/based off of this one now but then again this is just so amazing.) Good job

5:43-5:47 Percy's going on his own Big World Big Adventures!!! I laughed so hard on that part!!!!!! The humor in this is wonderful!!!!!!! Definitely one of the funniest Thomas and Friends videos I've ever seen!!!! I also like how you use actual container ships instead of tramp steamers and freighters.

Really went for the container ships cause of the sense of scale they give, compared to the smaller boats in railworks. They give a proper backdrop to the docks. :)
This was absolutely brilliant. Henry andPercy are both great in character together and they really do work off each other to make a great story. The visuals of this video are incredible, as is the sound. Amazing work as always Mayoorhan, always looking forward to whatever brilliant work you come up with next

Wow, you really know how to tell a story, from visuals to just dialogue! Henry and Percy were great in this and I think the show should do it more often. Last we saw it was A Scarf For Percy in season 3. Mayoorhan, nice job on this, these vids are always worth the wait and I hope you have a great Summer mate!

However, I do wish you had kept Percy's squeaky voice. It's kind of... Signature. The voice he has now suits him, so if you keep it, that's fine. Just fancy the older voice more. :p

Though the change in voice is just to separate this from the 'Percy Does the Thing' series. Different Percy in a different style of story means a different voice. And George suits this type of Percy down to a tee.
Can guarantee, the next time Percy does the thing, Haydn will jump right back into the voice box.
I'm at a loss for words Mayoorhan; just so satisfying all around. I wish we could have focussed on Henry and Percy paired up at some point in the Brennaissance, but glad to see it got some more attention at all. Two of my most relatable characters too!

It’s too dark to see the faces. I like how Henry dramatically turned on the turntable towards Percy. I also liked “Monsters everywhere” at the end.
This is some good stuff, i tell you what... lol and that cut from the yard with his missing vans to Henry on the turn table to call out Percy, was on point.
After watching the whole thing, i must say this was really really well done.

I remember watching this near when it first came out. It’s still as amazing as it was over a year ago.
Even 5 years and countless rewatches later, this is a brilliant video!
Cracking work Mayoorhan! The filming techniques, camera work as well as the writing/dialogue between every character was entertaining and enjoyable to watch.
P.s. *THIS* is how Henry should be written in the actual show. A true character.

A fantastic story. The camera work and lighting were spot on. I love the way the story played out, and as a side note, they way the cars bump when coupled is really cool, I've never seen that before. Lovely work.

I love this the camera angles the joke's the voice actors chosen for Henry and Percy, the fantastic writing made this an enjoyable video props to you Scotsman.
Oh this was wonderful Mayoorhan!! The visuals, the sounds, the music... just smashing! The change of voice actors was also most refreshing. May feel a tad unusual to hear George's voice on Percy, but he did a wonderful job of it, make no mistake! I especially liked this Henry-Percy pairing, with Henry being that sort of kind but firm character. I always feel like that's a side of Henry that is a bit too less explored in both the TVS and the RWS. Anyway, great job once again mate!

What Percy said isn't 100% true. At least he doesn't pull the Kipper much. I don't know why Arthur doesn't pull it since he likes the fishy smell
If there's anything we have learned from this story, it's the importance of making the right decision. So when you have to make a decision about something, don't just jump at the first or the easiest answer, think it through. Look at both sides and then decide. That way whatever decisions you make will have a better chance of being the correct ones.
Basically, don't be a Henry. Be a Percy!
