Droll and lock bird have another use on a cyberese deck and that is to turn it into a link kuribo. Also depending on the cyberese cards you’re using it can give you the ability to special summon another cyberese

"Staple cards" is a TCG terminology not exclusive to yugioh. They are cards that are used regardless of most archetypes you are playing.
Maxx C, Ash, etc. Are staple cards.
CORE cards are the ones needed to make a particular archetype work.

Evenly Matched is my favorite trap card; I run three in every deck bc it's crazy good. Most decks do not have an out for a trap card as most meta decks except Drytrons have no natural negation for traps.

Glad I bought Ash Blossom from the bundle at the start. What I did was degenerate 3 SR cards (no sr tokens when I started playing) for tokens to use them for a card that I will generate in order to unlock the secret pack.
Ngl that’s the best way to start an MD account cause then u can start spending gems on your goal archetype almost immediately
@@helioizer3366 well i wasnt pratically sure which archtype I would like to use as main. So what i did was not binding my account in order to reset the progress until i found the best archtype for me to use.
I'm going to try maining Heavy Slump to punish MAXX C plays (everyone and their mother is running it). Imagine your opponent drawing half their deck just to shuffle everything back and leave them with just 2 cards.

This is the actually what staples means. Staples mean a card to make the deck work. Is ash staples? Nope. But it is essential, necessary. The words lost its meaning along the way these past few years.
Sadly, Yeah..... I mean, look at me.... I had to put the moth Kaiju in all my decks because of a certain deck I might encounter.

-Got 2 master packs, unlocked the Witchcrafters pack, then unlocked the SkyStrikers + Aromage secret packs.
-Burnt my Ur tokens in 3x Maxx C + Ash Blossom + 3 Impermanence + 2 Effect Veilers, and other Urs (I forget atm).
-Master Duel is awesome + way more generous than Duel Links
Sure it is. You spend $50 won't get anywhere in DL, that spending in MD is about 3 complete competitive decks in DAY 1 (since Handtraps are shared, next one will be cheaper).

Nah, duel links had the opportunity to grant more gems after the start but it required you to autoduel.
In master duels, my well ran dry after a week and i only have one competitice deck, which can still. Be improved.
For reference, in duel links, i played for months, had 4 top tier decks, a few meme decks, and made king of games, completely free.
Also, duel links pack buying emptied the bow, so if you missed your cards, the chance of getting them increased because there were less cards to draw from.
I've played DL since launch, the system is flawed.
1. While drawing from boxes thins it out and up your chance of pulling the UR/SR you want, that didn't change the fact that there will only ever be 1 UR and either 2 SRs in a main or 1 in a Mini.
Just 2 days ago, I pulled 2 Shuraig Ominous Omens from within the same 8 card pack in MD.
2. The biggest point is that you can craft I'm MD.
Like I said, I didn't my tokens on 2 Ash (1 from the deal), 3 Maxx c, 3 Imperm.
I even just crafted Masquerena, Access code, and even 3 nibiru, 3 forbidden droplet and 3 upstart goblins.
All this is possible from just opening packs for other decks I wanted to build like SkyStrikers, Dragonmaids, Zoodiac/Tri-Brigade, even U.As.
3. Like Dekayed has been saying, building a core for the decks is important and that isn't really viable in DL since it's a 20-30 card game with not a lot of room for tech options outside of your decks engine
(built a full Skystriker, Dragonmaid, Aromage, Witchcrafter deck and I only need 2 UR links to finish the Zoodiac deck)
Gamma had a nasty habit of bricking you with the driver

Ice dragon's prison is a great trap for control decks
I don't know about the luck of other players but I've built a Adamancipator + Block Dragon deck with extra deck and I still have 4k gems left in just a week.
And just like that I've climbed to Plat IV with almost 6k gems left. Just dismantle every UR and SR that you don't need
How do you get around Skill Drain once you're in plat?
@@luckyharbinger2054 haven't encountered skill drain much except Eldlich deck it's one of the weakness of this deck that's why you put feather duster and lightning storm
@@natechods Makes sense, I don't have the UR for HFD, but I am trying out the miracle rupture package now. 2/3 of my games are against various types of skill drains after new season started somehow 😂
I've got multiple accounts and I'm not sure if I've just been getting lucky I've never had any trouble to make any deck full power from the in game gems, theirs a few decks that a little harder striker/phantom knights because you need 3x master pack UR for the main deck & it sort of cuts in to you making a second deck, but if all your going to do is play ranked mode I wouldn't advise any one spending money when you don't have to..just make multiple accounts
as a f2p i have the full zoo-tri and sky striker on my main (minus 3 upstart which i used to tech into anti-skill drain stuff thats better for my play style anyway)

I play DragonLink and I m loving gamma as it is an interruption on their turn(if they go 1st) and if I m going 1st i usually activate chaos space/quick launch first baiting ash/maxx c so I get to negate their hand trap and get a free lv.8 synchro (chaos ruler lol)
Oh right, chaos space adds monster that cannot be normal summon.
Lost wind is a sick as hell card. If you're just starting the game its a must to have it.

at 2:03 you mention that cards like ash and maxx C arent staples. staples are cards youre going to being playing in almost all your decks and that are swapped between all your decks irl. staples includes all your handtraps and going second cards like DRNMs and evenly's, which would include cards like ash and maxx C.
HOWEVER
you are correct, dont waste crafting resources on staples when your core engine pieces (the cards that make up the essential identity and strategy of a deck) still arent in your deck yet.
Dkayed disagrees with the actual definition of “staples” and has applied his own definition. He thinks it makes more sense to say that core cards of the deck are “staples” rather than optional “throw in because you have room” cards.
I think it only serves to confuse people, just like you are confused by it, but that’s what Dkayed has decided.

In my opinion staples refer to cards which can be used in a large variety of decks to benefit your strategies so cards like Ash blossom, Maxx C, Called by the Grave, Imperm, Dropplets, Accesscode, etc.
Whereas what you call staples, I'd refer to as "core".
Cards you need to run in a specific deck for the deck to function for example:
In numeron, you need the xyz's, field spell and spell card for that deck to run as missing any of them or having less of them makes that version of the deck either unplayable or very difficult to run.
In terms of your example where you want "Accesscode, Selene, Halq and Veiler" before Ash and Maxx C is just wrong.
You don't need the Accesscode engine for the deck to win out games, its far better to have interruptions to your opponent than having a combo which may be helpful to get game.
Especially when you need multiple tuners (blossom cards which are all URs and Veilers) for the Accesscode Package to do what it needs as Halq needs a tuner. I guess maybe add some tuners which can special summon themselves but then you are running more bricks as if you don't also have a sky striker or the spell for the token, summoning them turns off your striker spells and cannot be used to interrupt the opponents plays.
9:44 no you never play chalice over dropplet unless you have limited number of dropplet.

I play with Thunderdragons in the moment and there are some cards that i could really use there but i don't understand why so less TD plays TT? with titan and/or coloss on the field you want cards in the GY to keep them safe and to use effects from Darkness or Matrix. But I'm new to the theme so i'm open for advise

btw i think you can put at least one pot of desires in pretty much any deck, you can search first, then activate it, the biggest downside is that you can activate only 1 per turn, and you only really wanna activate one per duel lets be real. if you play 3, how many times do you activate 1 and draw the 2 other copies, lets be honest here, it happens every single time somehow xD also pot of prosperity is the perfect card to draw into your skill drains, its so toxic.

You missed an awesome pot - pot of avarice. It recycles monsters and if you play a deck which blazes through their extra deck(zoo hint hint) it's basically a free pot of greed.
Sky Striker uses it too, I mean, Kagari is at one, after all
I think it is more situational than most of the other pots since it is something that require you to set up your graveyard for it. And the "return 5" is sometimes a bad thing when you want to get thing in the graveyard and may also dilute your future draw. Decks that want to recycle thing back into extra deck however will benefit from it barring the annoying requirement of having 5 monster in graveyard
Other pots (Pot of E and P especially) can help save a brick hand, Avarice is more for after you have done your combo and you want to refill your hand a bit. Still, it is a good card and can be gotten for a low price of 500 gem since it is in the structure deck. I use it in my synchro deck to recycle some synchro monsters
@@ultradolp1335 Not entirely true. As mentioned, when used in decks which burns through their extra deck monsters quickly(sky strikers and zoo comes to mind), you simply pick 5 extra deck monsters, return them to the extra deck and DRAW 2 CARDS. No future draws are diluted at all.
Some other decks which won't mind using this are something like dark world dangers - They want to shuffle their used dangers in order to summon them against since their special summon effect are not once per turn.
Now is it for unbricking hands? Not in most cases but it's still a fantastic draw 2 card.

Did they patch out the free pack from generating Sr cards? I had no secret packs, and generated a card, and the proper pack showed up but with no free pull.

the problem with these aux handtraps is that matches are bo1 :( also what do you think about borrell sword over accescode I just made borrelsword and appalousa for PK instead of accesscode

I just used these cards and integrated it with Tune Deck and I just hit Platinum rank with it lol.
The best 8 to make from gamma and driver is Psy-Framelord Omega. You get to rip a card from your opponents hand every turn.

Just dismantle whatever cards you find not useful/you're not gonna use anytime soon.
And if you don't have them, Play solo mode or pvp to get some gems to buy any pack for cards to dismantle.

Forbidden Chalice is better on Sky Striker, adds up to your spell count and can also be used the moment you draw into it.

@@xTrovezDiesLastx The halving of the attack of the negated monster is usually not that useful since strikers usually just use Afterburners or Accesscode to destroy monsters and usually does not attack over them. I really haven't tried using droplets because they are ultra rare but you'd only need to negate at most one monster for your plays to push through. You'd want hand traps to stop your opponent from building a big board such as drytrons and bird.

I prefer droll lock bird rather than ash blossoms
Subterror Guru Control is nuts, it's not effected by most meta decks and has counters to all strategies. I used a Guru Control deck to climb to platinum and only lost once when I made a stupid play and got greedy for the win and didn't read effect closely enough and for sure would have won on the next turn. It's core takes three ultra-rares so its medium in price but you can put in literally anything you want outside of the 10-12 essentials. Hand traps, general purpose traps, spells, you can add Subterror Behemoths if you want more punch. Probably half the people surender because I interrupt he combos or clear the board with There Can Be Only One which this deck can use. It basically revolves around a recyclable omni-negate hand trap in Subterror Fiendess which is just so strong

Can I just say how crazy it is how the game is forcing you to play hand traps just generic hand traps that's the whole point of the band list in the first place so that every deck would stop playing pot of greed stop playing these broken Staples but now every deck has 15 staple cards that go in every single deck Ash blossom Maxi effect available infinite impermanence and a set of Pop cards
Necessary evil because... how will you respond to the other playing playing solitare with his cards? Handtraps and kaijus. Blame Konami for this too because they are the reason why Yugioh became a "Mostly" solitare game in the first place. (Cannot mulligan)
So you just watch ppls combo to oblivion like playing solitare for 20 minutes or more? And then they have unbreakable board because you know you dont interrupt their combo and even worse they have negates for you so you dont do jack shiet. Blame Konami because they're the one making all the cards like solitare nowdays.
Well, at least I was able to build my Eldlich deck first day with 3x Ash Blossoms, 3x Maxx "C" and 1x Zeus before even unlocking the Duel Pass _just by the resources the game gave me 🤷🏽♂️
The only cards that I was missing at first was my 2 Gustavs, that I then crafted them, with the help of the Duel Pass, still on the first day
For a newbie to Yu-Gi-Oh!'s competetitive scene like myself it was a really generous amount of resources from the start, at least it seemed like it

You're wrong by saying Ash blossom or Max c is not a staple... A staple is considered any generic card that you have to have in any deck every single deck in the game that is trying to be competitive is going to play three Ash blossom 3 Max c sometimes a couple infinite impermanence or effect of valor
It depends, the word "staple" has lost its meaning with all these splash them in any deck cards, but technically a staple is a card that is crucial for the deck to function well, so considering that, you can still play your deck to the fullest without ash or maxx c making them NOT staples
