I felt sorry for Doughboy, he was so misunderstood
A very complex dynamic that many go through in impoverished families.
He had more sense than Ricky. He was always aware of what was going on, reading & taking steps to stay out of jail. No matter how much him & Ricky fought he always had Ricky’s back.
So much of Doughboy's character was a result of his relationship with his mother.
i'm going thru that w my own mother right now everybody tells me to pray but sometimes i feel like praying doesn't get nowhere even tho i believe in God 🤦🏽♂️
All because she blames him for his father's actions too something he had nothing to do with
There is something beautiful about seeing folk open up to cultural dichotomies that effect other humans.
Practicing empathy is the most encouraging hope for people in my opinion.
To welcome that challenge is to hopefully open our empathy in reality.

I live right in that neighborhood around that time. Everything they show was accurate. I seen it all. Looking in from the outside, its easy to passed judgment on communities like this until you actually lived it for yourself.....I enjoy your reaction. Keep it up!!

I think when Trey came back to the house, his dad was too emotional to speak to him. His dad had those stress balls which showed he had high anxiety that whole time. He may have even cried when he went into his room. But thats out of character for him to cry or get super emotional in front of anyone. He was always the voice of reason in this film
I agree. Having sons of my own, I would be worried to death until they walked in, then too pissed to talk right away. I get it.
That was not Ferris in the beginning. It would be improbable also because Doughboy, Ricky, and Tre were living in a Crip neighborhood. Come to find out, Doughboy himself was from the R0llin 60s Crips set and probably some of the people we seen around him, too. Ferris and the guy in the red cap were obviously Bl00ds or Pirus. Come to find out, they were actually from Crenshaw Maf÷> G×ngsters a B00d set. Sidenote. The person that is wearing the red cap was played by Lloyd Avery ll, who ironically ended up repping Black P Stone Bl00d in the Jungles in LA. He eventually caught a case and ended up in Pelican Bay, but he didn't make it out.

the scene where they shot the uzi in the air was unscripted that's why everybody jumped down so fast they were legit scared which made scene better it was a surprise

'8 Seconds' has Luke Perry, life story of Lane Frost, youngest pro bull riding champion in history, was directed by Avildson(Rocky, Karate kid) And then 'We are Marshall' true story about Marshall University football team coming back from tragedy, stars Mathew McConeghey. A reason Ice Cube is featured on the poster is bcuz at that time he would've been a big draw to get pppl to watch. As u pointed out, Furious was Larry F not Lawrence. LOL
The guys that took the football would have been older guys from the same gang that Doughboy joined when he got older. Ferris was from a rival gang so he would have been from a different neighborhood.
Yea maybe but you know in LA every few blocks is a different hood… they were crips though they could’ve been their g homies I never thought about that
@GkEagle But also the guy that takes the football says "Little Chirs, tell him I'm not gonna take his football." If he knows Little Chris they are probably all from the same neighborhood. Also, Little Chris has a brother in jail. So his older brother is probably from that gang too.

We actually are one of the longest versions of it on CZcams but I appreciate the comment. Higher learning is on our list, I'll look into baby boy. Wish we could put more of the movie in but it would never get posted past copyright. (No music, no clips longer than 7 seconds, no more than 30% of the entire film) And even following those you'll find movies get taken down. So far in my experience Fox Entertainment and Columbia records are the worst about it. 👍
