I feel like fh5 car sounds have more depth and bass to them and they sound more responsive and less computerized. Because most of the cars in fh4 sounded like they have the same tone but were very compressed and computerized.
Because they were edited files based on previous games like FM7...
Like in the video of SuckAtDriving where changed or deleted the current audio file for the original, which was much better! The reason why they did this? Nobody will ever know...
the word you're looking for is synthesized, not computerized! (although it's understandable in this context)
cruising was so sad with the sounds in FH4 :( I always ran to NFS Heat for that exact reason

@@bk06jdm It sounds like a stock supra with a trd exhaust which i dont think people havent heard or may not like.

It’s almost soothing to hear 5’s sound directly after 4
I think what's amazing about the new sounds is the satisfying dip in the noise as you shift gears and I also love how the cars make u feel as if it is genuinely loud and echoed

It does sounds like you're in a tunnel for some cars, but hopefully that will be fixed in an update or patch
I really wish they would have finally done Japan because it’s an over populated island country that could probably be worked into the whole country as a full map with the next gen hardware but Mexico is alright. Loved Australia though!
FH5 sounds like cars are permanently in the tunnel, really has that Driveclub feel to it.
If you've heard real loud cars you would know that the sound really echo and bounce off everything. In previous FH games the sounds are so flat and sound unauthentic

FH5 landscapes are breathtaking
My god I hadn't seen any images/footage from FH5 until this video. It's stunning
FH1 - has plenty of bass but when revving, the revs jump a little bit as the pitch gets higher, but nonetheless satisfactory to hear. Some sounds lacked overrun but idle noises and the general sound of cars were very accurate to the real life counterpart.
FH2 - considered the best in the franchise for treble, some bass, tone and pitch. Many players return to this game purely for the satisfying sounds that were available.
FH3 - a new sound file that was shared across a few cars (Toyota Supra RZ, Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec II and BMW M4) Sounds okay with responsive throttle input and an overrun sounds (gurgles) are widely introduced. Sounds sound compressed, but not so bad.
FH4 - very controversial in terms of how many cars shared the same sound files. A fair few were inaccurate or very, sound files were compressed which makes them sound digital and lifeless. There a few good sounds, but not many.
FH5 - a very promising result from the developers hardworking and perseverance, plus dedication to making the sounds as accurate, diverse, full of treble as well as bass; now has ray-tracing technology for sound files which run at 90fps, faster than what the game runs which allows each rev to be heard accurately and precisely. A true successor to FH2 and brings life back to Forza after FM7 and FH4 were disappointing in this department. Diversity and immersion for the sounds mean that the sounds can change varying the upgrades added to card where pitch and tone can be adjusted with parts accordingly. Finally, convertibles in first person view when the roof is down will change the interior noise. Also, there is now rev-knocking when bouncing from the RPM limiter. New sounds, such as forced induction, transmission and perhaps weight reduction may change the interior sound (where more vibrations and harshness may occur).
Really good explanation, you nailed it 😎👍
This comment deserves more recognition
only thing here is ray tracing isnt for sounds its for graphics
Only problem with FH5 is that some engine sounds are still wildly inaccurate to their engine models, but yeah it's a incredible step up in terms of quality.
I like the echo effect too, not many racing games have that.
@@jamesidk_9081 oh, wait. They use some sort of "grain" technology, or some shit?

Amazing how in this list FH4 comes LAST in everything in terms of quality. I liked how a lot of the FH2 sounds were done, BRZ is good. FH5 for what we have seen so far really goes to show how powerful implementing the Granular Synth audio can be, truly awesome. As well as how the cars sound when they shift gears hot damn, the Lambo and Ferrari especially, lush. I hope the same is being applied to the smaller engined, slower cars. Next thing they need to improve now is the animations, the avatar still shakes the gear stick instead of actually shifting 😂

You know the sound is good when it reminds you of Assetto Corsa. At least, it did for me. One thing that Assetto Corsa haves that every game (not only racing games) doesn't, is bass. Like, how can an explosion have no bass? Games are the opposite of the stereotypical edm/rap listener sound equipment choices, instead of having only bass, you have none in games.
