    Hey I’m just wondering I had flown my defender about 4-6 times had some small crashes but into snow I did blow all the snow out and dry it off as best as possible went to to fly again and it doesn’t want to bind or connect to beta flight. There is an orange and red light I see inside on the board of drone is it probably water damaged? 😢

    Not a big fan of the defender looks cheaply built, but I am digging the cinelog20. I pounded my avata first time in manual mode. Didn’t even try any tricks flips or rolls almost ended up in the lake. I posted it on my channel. Kinda a lamé video. Just gapping some trees and almost went swimming when I crashed on the dock. But the prop guards on the avata are pretty durable. Another good video Justin

    Hi - Question: Been watching a lot of your videos, and trying to decide on the Defender 25 or a similar cinewhoop from maybe geprc. I seem to remember in one of your videos, I think you compared the crash durability between the iFlight Defender 25 and another comparable drone - and I can't remember what that 'other' drone was. I think you stated that the other drone might hold up a little better in a crash - but, not sure.
    I want to say, it was the cinelog25 v2 or possibly the cinelog20 - not sure.
    The only thing I am on the fence about is with the iFlight Defender 25 is the proprietary batteries - (yes, I do see that the battery connector supports xt30 - but, with the 'latching system' not sure how a normal quad battery would be used in place of that proprietary battery.
    Any thoughts you could give on durability and battery items would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Gary Moyer

    I am very torn between ordering a Cinebot 30 and defender 25. If it came down to deciding purely based on performance and usability and nothing else which would you choose? The difference in money or weight doesn't really mean anything to me here, I just want which ever will perform better.

    • @dronecamps
      @dronecamps  Před rokem +1

  • @bhosterman
    @bhosterman Před rokem +2

    The advantage the Avata has that no one seems to mention is its stability in combination with the motion controller and head tracking. I know it's frowned upon by many but if your goal is to get into tight places slowly and look around, nothing beats it. I was able to fly under my kids trampoline and with the head tracking, real time look up and around and watch them jump around all while hovering. I flew into the middle of a tree, parked it in a tight spot and while hovering looked all around and up and down with branches only inches away. It holds its position like it was handheld on a gimble. And without any menu changes you can squeeze the trigger and fly around at 30mph like a plane. If you can get past the vertigo, you go fly sideways and backwards too with the combination of the motion controller and head tracking. I know what I've described is more for capturing unique video than for having fun or free styling, but I think it's really cool and basically fool proof. Works very well for real estate too. Put it in normal mode and just point and shoot. No bouncing up and down. Fly at whatever speed you want, and you can look like a pro. For me, using the motion controller is different enough from manual mode that I don't confuse my inputs like I do using the RC controller and switching between Normal, sport, and Manual mode. Everything I described can be done in Normal and Sport mode with the RC controller but it's not as fluid and trying to tilt the camera, pan, maintain speed and altitude at the same time introduces a 5th degree of control to deal with VS just moving your head to point at what you want to see. Anyway, thanks for all the reviews. I think I'm leaning towards the Cinebot 30 for more acrobatic flying.

    • @fishdude666ify
      @fishdude666ify Před rokem +1

      Dude you totally nailed it. I've been out of the hobby for years; the last thing I built (because they didn't come RTF back then) was a ZMR knockoff with a Naze32 and 6" props. So I'm at the smoke shop the other night, and from out in the parking lot I hear the *wheeeeee* of a drone taking off. I go running out and this dude is flying with a weird wii type controller. He parked it and showed me how it works, then gave me the goggles and let me fly it (no head tracker, but the up/down gimbal was synced to the pitch of the controller). First impression: AMAZING! I hadn't flown FPV in like seven or eight years and once my brain made the connection with how the tx worked I was buzzing around AT NIGHT with confidence. Amazing camera too the straight cam footage was sharp with great color; when I used to fly parking lots at night it was difficult to really see anything. That's why I'm here actually, because the $ on the Avata is a little steep and I wanted to get something with a similar cam system. I never even learned to fly acro in FPV (but could acro great LOS) but never even learned flips or rolls. So for me, using that wand took all the uncertainty out of it and just let me fly around smoothly.

    • @tonymorgan328

    • @edgk490
      @edgk490 Před rokem +3

      More often they are "people guards". If you are filming, say, some skaters, it is harder to hurt somebody if you have propguards. Also, with propguards, in narrow places you don't immediately crash if drone hits something, like a tree branch.
