    Your paintings are fantastic, and I learn so much from your videos. However, I always end up feeling very frustrated when you speed it up for the fine detail work. This is the part when beginners like me really need to see what you are doing in real time. I follow along for the real time parts of your videos and feel great about how much I'm learning and how my painting skills and confidence are improving. Then you speed it up and I try my best to follow along, but I inevitably end up feeling lost and discouraged and wanting to give up. Beginning painters need to know what colours you are putting where, and why, and what you are mixing on your palette to create these colours. I would be so grateful if you did some tutorials that really focus on teaching the detail work!

    Thank you Chuck I painted this along with your tutorial. You do beautiful work and are a great teacher! I learned so much from this video. Thanks again!

    Chuck your work is so beautiful. I've already learned so much watching for this 20 minutes. Your eye for detail and beauty is miraculous. I can't wait to see more of your videos.

    I am really impressed how your paintings looks like they're done in oils. not many can do this!!

    Absolutely amazing. If I could only learn how to properly do an underpainting and know what items (rocks, grass, etc)to out in I'd be set. I've watched so many of your videos. You are my favorite artist. Thank you for sharing your talent.

    Thanks for another stunning painting Chuck. About the "highlights" on backs of your trees, I call them "lowlights", because that is what they are in comparison to your bright highlights. You do them so magically. Thank you. I'm busy trying a seascape sunset at the moment. Still have a ways to go with it. Thank you for all the encouraging videos, they helped me a lot to understand acrylics.

    Hello Mr. Chuck! I'm painting along with you. I'm learning from you to be much more free while doing an under-painting, that it's the idea and suggestion part of the painting. I have watched this through twice and now at the pausing stage as I paint along. The details will be trickier but I think I'll be able to see how you refine the piece. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us! I so want to stop the video, reach in and take a better look at the "blending brush". Can you tell us what brush that is exactly?

  • @CONSTELLATION_PEGASUS
    @CONSTELLATION_PEGASUS Před 6 lety

    Fantastic!! This one intrigued me - you used a more "loose" approach than most of your paintings I've seen. You got a great misty feel in it. I'm not a huge fan of a fan brush, (I have one, but the poor thing is neglected), but it worked fantastic, for the diffused look, on the foreground trees. BTW, I just subscribed! I've watched quite a number of your videos/demos, and your channel is the reason I get on CZcams, now. Of all the artists' vids I've watched, yours are the most comprehensive, well explained, considerate/inclusive, and you are the only artist that I've found that is willing to actually allow the viewer to be able to learn what you've learned and know. Yours is the only CZcams channel to which I am subscribed, and likely to remain that way. Love you work, and your approach!

    I like your instruction except for the very last. For those of use who are new to this (or fairly new) it is the small details at the end that you fast forward through where we need you to go slower and talk us through it. PLEASE!!

    I am about to start painting and your videos have been invaluable to me! My passion is wildlife and the outdoors, so your paintings are giving me so many ideas that my brain is about to explode. Your style is so unique.
    My question is should I start on a large canvas with a landscape similar to this for my first painting or am I biting off more than I can chew?? What do you recommend for a good quality canvas?
    Thank you so much for the time you spend to teach and share your incredible gift. God bless you. ~ Dianna

      Start with what you want to do, not what you think you are comfortable with. If it scares you to go big, I would say do it because you will learn the most. Just don't be afraid to mess up. I do a lot! Thanks Dianna I really appreciate the compliments and great to have you here!

    Most of the acrylic painters on You tube seem to use heavy body paints & I noticed that you use fluids. I am new to painting so bought a lot of heavy body paints. I have some fluids and think I like them better. They seem to spread so much better. You seem to achieve very realistic looking scenes. Do you think the fluids help with this? Is that why use them over heavy body? I love your beautiful skies! Thanks for sharing!

    Your paintings are amazing! I’ve been obsessed with watching your videos lately. Before you do a painting, do you draw out your own scene? Look at multiple reference photos, or just go along with how you imagine the scene the way you want it?

    • @chuckblackart
      @chuckblackart Před 6 lety

      Thanks Kelly-Jo! For these hour long paintings I typically just go with an idea in my mind. I use reference for my larger more detailed work. But I like to practice without as well which is what this painting would be :)
