There is something so special about seeing your scraps laid out in one quilt. You bought all those different fabrics because you loved them, right? What better way to admire all of those gorgeous fabrics than to lay them out in a quilt like this. I’m working on a scrap quilt similar to this one and I can’t stop looking at it because it’s soo cool and interesting. thanks for sharing your quilt. It’s beautiful! 😊

yes, I agree when I look at a scrap quilt, I can see every quilt I have made from the items so lovely, and the memories alone is so great with scrap quilts.

This is what first drew me to quilts - all the scraps being different and creating an interesting and engaging visual treat of homey comfort. The quilting itself is more curved in shape and the blocks and rows more linear. It is just genius.

Good morning Karen. I really love this quilt. It will be the perfect quilt for my church quilting circle to make. All of them are still learning the basics of quilting. this will be a perfect quilt for them to have success and fun with. We have made one very large one so far, it was a California Queen size. We sold it to help raise money for church repairs. It was a coin quilt.

@@brendaboykins9163 HI Brenda i used the scraps as they are in reference to the sizes i picked for eg all was cut to 9inchs in length but for the width they were used as is.... so some were 9-inch by 4inch or 9 inch by 2 inch just sew them together using the book method. try watching the video again.

Great for a charity quilt. I’ve been making a lot of project Linus quilts out of scraps, although I’ve been using coordinating colors, but nevertheless scraps. I do have loads of scraps that don’t go together and this would be a perfect quilt for that. I would think it would also be nice for someone in a nursing home who would enjoy seeing all the different fabrics. I find it to be a lot of fun, working with scraps and making up quilt patterns from them. Creativity is good for the brain and so much fun.

Your scrap quilt is beautiful. i would love to see how you put your scraps of batting together. I have worked hard to teach my friend that throwing away her scraps of fabrics is throwing away money. She was very surprised to see the scrap quilts (that another woman and I) made out of her scrap fabrics. The more scraps you have (in all colors and prints) the more interesting and beautiful the scrap quilt (or quilts) will be. I love to string piece on paper foundations.

Thank you, Karen. The length of recording is perfect. I love your attention to detail in your explanations. Your examples are very encouraging to new quilters like me. Some feedback made with love…you do yourself a disservice using the term ‘simplistic’..your examples are not simplistic but simply excellent. 😊 Also, I have a pet hate with the term ‘guys’. I would guess your audience is mainly female. As my granddaughter would say ‘No offence. Just saying’. I love your work. Please continue ❤️

No worries, thanks for the feedback, also do note that the greeting 'hi guys' is a gender-neutral greeting and makes reference to a group of male and females that gives no offence.

    • @CraftyQuiltingDesigns

Good question! I choose a set or piece of fabric and look for all the colours from that one piece of fabric e.g. if the chosen piece has red, blue green I will look for scraps that contain those colours with hg and low contrast and place high and low together when piecing ... hope this helps do let me know if this method works for you.
