- Part 1 gameplay of the new game by TML Studios, 'The Bus', a city bus driving simulation set in the capital of Germany, Berlin, on a realistic scale of 1:1.

My short review: The game is currently in super early access and hence has a lot of bugs and optimization issues and has very limitted content. But the game does look good since it is developed on the Unreal Engine 4. I really wish they work more on the characters and their animations which look terrible and out of place as of now. The physics feel good as long as you don't drive like a madman. The ffb does need a lot of work tho. And the interior sounds are pretty realistic too. Overall an enjoyable experience as of now. I have high hopes for this game, we just gotta wait and see where the developers take this game to. The game is played using the Thrustmaster T300RS GT Edition. Let me know what you think about the game in the comments below. Cheers!

This is my problem with sims. I cant deal with the lack of balance in how things are developed. insane levels of detail and care go in to some areas and none at all in others. The driving is probably very immersive, then the passengers turn up to shatter it with a sledge hammer.
Very realistic! Just like the bus system here, most of the passengers don't pay the bus fare.
they have monthly passes
@@ZiggyTheAdventurer This is true!
They either buy the ticket at the stop dircetly or via phone. Sometimes they may approach the driver and buy a ticket there.
@@NationGamer090 ok but they don't validate anything, ? how do you know if they have a valid pass ?

This was great,I play bus simulation games like this on my phone one of the games don't have that much detail like this but the other one does, and I always wanted to play along with it like that wheel controls you have
I was a busdriver for 3 years. anyone who would drive like this (without indicating, sudden breaking, no crash avoidance space … I could go on for hours) wouldn‘t even make it through 1st day of training. ☝🏻😂 … But the game looks great. And feels very real even when you watch it on a small screen. so massive respect towards the developers.
Best thing about this are the interior sounds. They got it accurately
Funnily enough, those door sounds are from a Mercedes Citaro not a Scania, but that's just a minor complaint
Meanwhile in Finland, I drive Scanias like this but there’s only one big door at the front & every door is electric. Only our oldest buses have pneumatic doors.
@@robertson1996 Interesting... I feel like pneumatic actuators seem better suited for this though? They provide an infinitely smooth ramp up of speed when moving a heavy thing, and they always keep pressure holding the doors open or closed, which might reduce air gaps and rattles?

The traffic AI, density and volume looks absolutely awesome in this game. The dynamic weather also adds to the realism. It would also be great if they had pedestrian and bike traffic as well. With pedestrians and bike dangers that you would also encounter while driving a bus. Lastly, there should be a way to change bust stop markers so they are less obvious for added challenge.
If not the bus dashboard in view (not the player camera), I could think for a moment I see real city driving. Well done. Textures inside bus is giving sway this is a game, not reality, which is sad moment )

Things to improve in this game:
1. Cars are too bright and new. Make some of them old and a bit dusty
2. Passengers are looking away when bus is arriving to the stop. Passengers should be looking at the bus usually.
3. Remove huge bus stop indicators and make the driver find it by the actual bus stop sign .
Seriously?? Dude, it's an early access gameplay. The creators have not even done improving the game... It like you're reviewing the food when it's still being cooked.. have patience.😑🤦🏻♂️
well you have to first learn where you drive, after few days of driving with another driver you usualy know where signs are.
@@ashwinsuresh9460 he just listed things that could be improved and better in the final release, are you high?
Car-wise it looks exactly like where I'm from (Northern Europe). There haven't been dusty old looking cars since the 90s.
exactly! Totally agree with you. That would make the game look so much better and the people should be rendered a bit more realistic with better face expressions and more natural movements.
Really great looking game :O Can´t wait for full game :)
Same here!
Wow youre almost everywhere
the bus does not stop immediately, it trembles a little and every time you brake the front of it goes down and when you release the brake, the front goes up, correct it and it will be perfect
@@SantoGaziri are you writing about a real bus? because this one is as stiff as a competitive skateboard. It is not Omsi and I feel that it will never come close to Omsi.
Outside the bus looks stunning! but the inside feels off because of the lightning tho :(
I feel like if you increase the fov, you can have the GPS dynamically show up on the screen to the right. If other important information is going to be added that is important while moving, don't mind this idea. It might counter the model and how the bus behaves in real-life, but it would make the HUD cleaner. Another alternative is on-road arrows with mesh-mapping as they do in some games, but that's a lot of work and could be immersion-breaking.
The rain effects are gorgeous. So much detail in everything, alot I haven't seen in any other systems in games, such as the lift, rattling sounds, the road AI's driving, such as when some inch out of an intersection (best I've seen).
Except the NPCs. They need dynamic animations, facial expressions and subsurface scattering on their skin. They really stick out. There are plenty of solid assets for game engines that could be applied, if there isn't enough dev time for that. Or maybe this is already planned, just suggesting it in case it isn't considered.
The sound design is so immersive and realistic. I find it relaxing. There are so many stellar aspects and details in this sim.
Overall, outstanding work, top-notch quality. 👍
The speed of traffic is the most impressive thing to me , it's just bang on 👏👏👏

Had someone livestream it on Facebook and Facebook sort of knew at the time I like this game (Don't have it yet, I want to see where it's heading) so it recommended it to me, and during the pandemic, there was a busdriver in my city who recorded his service runs so people who wanted to see the city could at least see some of it that way, and I thought it was something like that and was watching it for a bit when the first passengers got on and realised it was a game :P.

Love the reality of the city and other drivers. Is not an empty map with cars that are there just to make numbers. The city feels alive, hope they put more effort into the NPC and some textures (like the bus stop information, and warning sign behindd that truck)
Man I love this game, tho traffic cars can be abnormal at times 😅 but still a good one for an early access.
I'm from Berlin and I can say that this map is really accurate! the textures are a bit off and the traffic is a lot different irl, less trucks but a lot of bikes and usually no cars parking on the bike and bus lanes. but the scale of the city is really well done.
If driving is this good I want to see this level of timing set up in GTA , Forza horizon, halo , everwhere ! The physics is exemplary
Finally a bus simulator with realistic lane widths and even road noise/ interior squeaks and rattles.

Why driving in game feels more satisfying than real life driving
Because driving in real life can be stressful, especailly if you're driving on a road with a lot of pot holes and traffic.

34:10 I was skipping through the video and I noticed this. As a truck driver, I have to say that people don't like it when the traffic light is on the right side and you block their view.
You don't see this kind of thing much, but as a big truck driver you have to think about it all the time, and it's not just this but a lot of other things ;)
And of course in the video game it's completely irrelevant, I just wanted to mention it so that others also take something from it.
Just wondering, in his case, what is the right decision? Stay behind the cars on the left? But then you would block the top traffic light?
