    Iv ordered a 35mm black one, it arrives tomorrow. I cant wait. A proper tool watch. Sapphire crystal 100m water resist, a light, a coundown timer, alarm, and a beautifully machined stainless steel case and THAT bracelet, so please don’t compare it to a casio. you can take it snorkelling and out to dinner, its the perfect holiday watch or GADA. As for the module, tissot doesn’t make shit watches, for them to put this module in it they wouldn’t have done it willy nilly. It will last, if it doesn’t i will eat my panama hat. In twenty years when it starts fading you can just put a new one in and u can remind your self that you haven’t spent a penny on it in 20 years other than a battery every four and the case will still be more than presentable and the crystal immaculate. If your still wearing the same watch in 20 years. I paid 300 pounds sterling for mine, direct from Switzerland. What more do u want from a swiss made 300 quid watch with all that heritage. Last month i bought a seiko 5 snoopy for £330. Compared to that this is a bargain. There’s only one thing wrong with it. No micro adjustment. thats it.

    The g shock gmw b5000 is probably the best digital "dress" watch you can buy at that price. You get the class shape of a square, built quality like a solid dive watch and a reliable solar Bluetooth atomic module. For some reason, Tissot loves to put a press on case back on their quartz prx, including this digital one. You will definitely have a hard time removing and installing the case back after years... and your water resistance is basically ruined after opening a press on case back...😑

    At this point, the PRX has become what the Royal Oak is to Audemars Piguet. Tissot might have inadvertently admitted that what you are paying for is just a very expensive bracelet.
    If you are interested in the comfort and build of the bracelet, go for the quartz PRX.

Fifty years old, lived through the seventies, have had every type of watch possible, but have now come full circle and wear digitals ninety percent of the time. Had I those three hundred odd quid laying around, I'd get one just to show Tissot and other brands there is a market for stainless steel digitals in a more modern size than Casio up to now make their all stainless steel watches. Anyways, I hope it is a tremendous hit forcing other companies tojump into it and offer their own takes. Imagine Citizen or Seiko jumping into the LCD space again.

    I think this digital is a fun and very 70s/80s retro appropriate addition to the PRX range. The price is too high for me to ever consider one as it would be an impulse purchase or a watch that would only get very occasional wear but that’s something I would say about the analog PRX too.

The Bulova computon does act like a traditional LED watch but it is still overpriced consider a $30 Armitron basically does the same ...

    I was over the whole 'Genta' thing very quickly, but this thing? ... Damn yeah!!!

    I am surprised Tissot doesn’t give the PRX a break after the 35 auto that was just released. How about a Gentleman GMT or a Gentleman at 35/37. I do like the Genta genre of watches. We don’t complain about the huge amount of dive watches or field watches.

    • @17arando
      @17arando Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yeah, I've made this point. I don't get why it's this huge saturation. I don't hear "ugh, yet another submariner inspired watch" with nearly the frequency as I hear claims about it being another "royal oak" and there's a tiny fraction as many of the latter.
      My PRX tends to be the watch that gets viewed as the most unique by people when I wear it out actually. Because my dive watches all basically look like every other dive watch to anyone who's not an enthusiast.
      That said, I absolutely hate this digital version hahaha

    • @17arando
      @17arando Před 11 měsíci

      Also gentlemen GMT sounds very cool. Though Tissot did just give the 1938 some love and came out with the sideral, so I don't think they're forgetting about the rest of their collection.
      It really seems like the gentleman is what's getting the shaft specifically, which is a shame, but I think since they both sit in roughly the same position, but the gentleman looks much more conventional, there's just more competition outside Tissot. So I'm sure the sale numbers kind of force that issue.

    I think it's really cool, I'm just struggling to find any info about the movement (whether it can be serviced/ how long it can last). Don't want it to end up stuck in a draw in the future because it can't be repaired :( (or worse: landfill)

    • @m4t7eo
      @m4t7eo Před 11 měsíci +2

      Well, it's a digital module, all the logic is probably integrated in a single chip, so the only way to service it is to replace the main board. It's the same way on 3000$ gshocks, so there's that. About reliability, there are no moving parts, the module should be relatively small (a little more than 20mm ø, seeing it has a 2025 battery), so it will be protected by the plastic holder. The display shouldn't see any pressure damage, as sapphire basically doesn't allow any flex. Generally speaking, digital movements are though, even the cheapest ones.

    I have the automatic PRX. It’s a lovely watch and good value for money for something that’s so well made…in my opinion, of course. I don’t get this digi though. Not sure there’s a market for it. 🤷‍♂

    I find this to be an intriguing and bold move from Tissot. Not sure how I feel about its looks, dont think it to be particularly pretty or anything but keep thinking there might be folks out there who like it.
    That being said, after seeing how unimpressed you were with the watch and how the comments section seem to unanimously agree with your assessment, I’m starting to think who is this watch for?

    Hi MWC, could you tell us how much of the watch’s price is brand and how much is the cost of production and R&D? Same question goes for Rolex and the Swiss holy trinity.

  • @rytisvitenas5784
    @rytisvitenas5784 Před 11 měsíci

    People say this watch should be circa 200quid because it is a digital. The movement inside the regular quarz cost only 20-30 pounds, meaning that even the regular quartz is overpriced..

    Id throw $75 at it maybe. Hey Russ, you should get a Amazon store and post the other watches you sell. So many numbers in the casio name I just for them and a link to a store you own would be helpful to us and you. Just a thought, Cheers
