Hard to believe 50 years ago South Korea had no highways, now a world leader
in road construction.
What you may, or not know the reason for building highways in the beginning was a military strategic one.
It was built to deploy military equipment, and troops quickly across the country if South Korea was ever invaded.
Germany was the first to build highways during World 2.
America used Germany's concept in constructing the Interstate Highways,
and shared the conception with its allied nations.
North Korea has built wide highways too, but for mainly a military purpose.
I was station in South Korea when the first Highway was completed.

In itself is amazing road because is between islands it´s super flat and the asphalt is new (a road cyclist dream).

Essa é a estrada dos sonhos das speed 🤩
지금도 자전거 초보이지만 작년 로드 자전거 타고 새만금동서도로를 힘차게 달렸던 기억이 납니다.
코스는 전주- 비응도-선유도-동서도로-심포항-전주 대략 170km 정도 였던거 같은데
민디님 영상보니 달릴수 있을때 또한번 달리고 싶어집니다

부안까지 차에 싣고가서 부안에서 시작하여 방조제를 따라 페달을 밟다가
고군산군도 5개 섬 라이딩하면 정말 풍경도 좋고 끝내줍니다.
4년 전에 동회회원들이랑 달렸었던 아련한 추억,
민디님 덕분에 그날의 추억을 소환해보네요^-^
주엽님 혹시 어디를 찍고가서 어디서 출발해야하는지 간략하게 설명좀 부탁드려도 될까요

부안에 있는 새만금홍보관에 주차하고 출발하면 됩니다.
