There were so many great tips, that I'll surely rewatch this video several times to make sure I don't miss anything. Today I started writing 100 topics for my videos. I already think about my channel differently.
definitely doing videos in advance, the concept of relieving pressure and having that buffer to think and plan in advance, not worrying about what I'm going to do next is great because youtubers always worry! thanks again.

I am starting a YT channel. I have gotten some great advice in my research on how to start and grow a channel/following... but this video has been, BY FAR, the most helpful. You have inspired me to write out a ton of topics and record at least 20 videos from that list before I launch my channel. I have 9 of those videos recorded, edited, and ready for upload. This has taken the pressure off of me to come up with new content each week. You give such great advice... very much worth our time as YT creators. This is worth paying for! I love Nick's videos for YT creators. I found his videos before yours, and he recommended you as one of his YT mentors. I'm so glad he put a plug in for your channel. You have such valuable content for us. Thank you!!! I've watched it twice already. If anyone ever asks me tips on starting/growing a channel in the future, I will send them to THIS video!
I realize this video is now three years old...but I went back and watched it twice. Why? Because I've been following Nick Nimmin (I love his style) and realized he started with this process... so I went back and watched it again and took notes the second time around. I want to mimic some of these techniques. Having a video background myself helps, butNicks creative energy is something I want to bring to my videos and combining that with your process... I hope to achieve great things in the Genealogy space. Thanks Derral Eves for laying out the process you went through with Nick.

Absolutely fascinating. It just makes me realise just how big a job it is to get a successful youtube channel. It's taken me years just to get to where I am but I think having a strategy like this back when I had time could have really made a huge difference!

im there right now, having been doing a gaming channel i found it to have limits on goals and what you want to say. I have toyed with an idea for many months which i know a considerable amount about and totally passionate about and also can help millions be better. I hope to watch this video properly and many more to help me with my next project , thanx for these great videos
All the advice popular CZcamsrs give is just the same old recycled bullshit and it does NOT help.
It's all, branding, make your channel look professional, make good content, follow the trends, be consistent and so on and it doesn't work. There has to be something else that all the big CZcamsrs are not telling us cause nothing seems to work with me I've tried it all.
I want this so bad as a job, being a CZcamsr who is actually SUCCESSFUL would be a dream.
Jazzy J well, how long have you given it each time? You might be on the right track but these things take time. You have to be patient. Are you uploading consistently? Are you passionate about what you're doing? Is your content consistent? Perhaps you're varying too much. EDIT: Judging by the way your channel looks perhaps you're thumbnails aren't entrusting enough. They look rather bland and do t really catch your eye. Are you filling out your descriptions and tags? Perhaps it's just that no one can fi d you when they search. EDIT 2: I've had a look at your videos again and it seems quite apparent that you aren't making your descriptions detailed enough. You need to make sure you put as much detail in as you can so people can find you easier. CZcams is a search engine after all.

Not really. Most people THINK they are doing it right, but they are NOT.
Most people aren't professional, so they keep pushing them, to make it professional! Most people don't know what professional even looks like!
Plus, it takes time. It takes 2-4years to grow any sort of following.
Most people quit, most people start and quit.
Plus look at ur channels, you are not consistent. Wop, wop.

This video is full of content - The people who thumbs down the video are usually very immature audience that is looking for all the silly quirks they are use to in video trends. The serious CZcams Entrepreneurs we loved this and watch from beginning to end! I actually saved in my special playlist to watch again so I can get the important tips that I might have missed the first watch

I started just a little bit ago, trying to grow my malnourished creative side. I've only got ten subs and 5 videos up, but just having made content consistently MWF for over a week now feels good. Celebrate small victories :)
I'd love to see a follow up on All Our Questions. How is the channel going after six months or a year, has it grown, is Nick still making the videos in advance and uploading at the same frequency? Has he managed to gain some income from his youtube channel to do a bit less graphic design work?

Absolutely on the making videos in advance! I have 19 videos ready to edit and post. Usually, I have between 15 - 20 videos waiting in the wings. It really helps so much!

That is so true that we need to be researching what is trending in our niche. I need to spend more time coming up with different topics. On my channel I have set videos that come out each week but on the other days I need more creative topics that people are searching for.

I can't stop watching!!!! I have soooo many ideas and those I would like to help start a You Tube channel to reach out to family and friends but most of all to make a first or second income. This guy, Derral is a goldmine! I love this technology and the wonderful information I am learning.

Wow i been watching nicks videos along with yours and Tim's channel Thank you to all of you .
Since I begin to watch your advice, and using Tube Buddy, things getting worst on my channel. Aside CZcams algorithm, all of this put me down, leading to deep depression. Right now I am so depressed that can't make any new video. Already deleted close to 370 videos, some going okay, some not. Remaining 120 videos are pretty crappy, but if I delete one more video, this will be end of my life.
I should have watched this video before I open my CZcams account, well let's watch!
