Pterocarpus macrocarpus, or large fruit tree, campot tree, foot tree tree, but la has a two-part nomenclature of Pterocarpus macrocarpus. This is a species of plant in the legume family, native to Southeast Asia, including northeastern India, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam[2][3][4]
In Vietnam, this tree is distributed in the Central Highlands and Southeast. Christmas tree usually grows at altitudes from 100-800m above sea level, the tree can withstand absolute maximum temperatures of 37.7-44.4oC and absolute minimum temperatures of 4.4-11.2oC, growing well in areas has rainfall of 1270-1520 mm/year. In Vietnam, this tree is distributed in the Central Highlands and Southern provinces such as Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Phu Yen, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh. Grows on many types of soil such as gray soil and basalt red soil.[5]
