Happy to know this channel has survived through the very difficult time! Though Corona is not gone yet, at least foreign tourists are coming back to Japan. Hope this year we will see more great videos like this from you!

Another great video from Raina Ong. The 3 day trips to less frequently visited areas are most interesting.

I’ve always wanted to visit Niigata since my Grandfather & 2 friends emigrated from there to the US. I thought this was a very helpful video with which to make plans to visit.

Thank you Japan-Guide and Raina for the excellent video , I've just went to Nagaoka, Niigata for work and the country side view (Inaka 田舎) is absolutely gorgeous.
The road trip series on Japan-guide is really informative and really helpful in guiding us to plan road trip in Japan.
Last time use to watch Japan hour on channel news Asia on Singapore TV only reading the subtitles, but Japan-Guide brings it one step further and teach us(English speakers ) how to plan a good trip in Japan .
    Thank you once again!

Awesome! Man you guys are all awesome...but... Reina. Knows. How. To. Eat. Dinner at Ryugon...wow. What an awesome trip, little bit of everything. I totally want a Gyokusendo beer glass...and maybe some sake cups 😇. Great to see you guys on the road again, Kanpai!

Finally a full-fledged video again! Thanks. If you ever return to Niigata, add to your itinerary what Niigata is known for in the world: koi breeders or at least a koi museum.

Personally, I find that these videos from Japan Guide are often edited in a way that sometimes feels as if it "panders" too much to meet the tastes of foreign tourists traveling to Japan. Having said that, these videos have some of the best content on the internet pertaining to Japan. It's nice to see what the entire country has too often rather than just Tokyo and a few other tourist spots that have become well-known to foreign tourists. I love these videos and look forward to more of them in the future.

That's kind of the point, no?
I followed all the recommendations of this video in June 2024 and had a great time except for the Okura hotel in Niigata City which was hella dated and had poor A/C, but the breakfast was included and excellent.

Niigata really doesn't get much love. Most foreigners I know who have traveled to Niigata say they only went because they are trying to visit all the prefectures, not because they really wanted to go there. I think every prefecture has worthwhile sites though.
