  • Honestly I'd rather have a raindance than a Sundance but I've got 2 left feet so ya know how that goes. This one was a real bucket

got a ‘91 awhile back for $400 and replaced the plugs and wires and it’s disgustingly reliable, cut the muffler off and it’s too fun to neutral drop

These are one of the greats from back in the good ole days. I don't see the flaws, over the quality of the car. The world of cars we are about to go into, people will be wishing for these classics.

Idk if you still have this car but these Sundance's and Shadows have become a popular build with the teens and 20 Somethings for Cheap/Budget JDM style builds, There's a dozen or so of them running around here in the AZ/CA/NV triangle and they wouldn't care that's it's a 4 door. My Cousins teenage son has a 91 Shadow that he's driving while he builds, They aren't my type of car but these kids creativity with them makes me happy but the things they can do with them with just a few bucks is what hot rodding is all about.

It's definitely what I wanted to do for as long as I can remember, I just love everything about them. The smell, the way they look, idk why it just fascinates the hell out of me lol

I absolutely love the Plymouth Sundance, so it was very satisfying to see it being patched up so nicely. Well done!

A hint for you. You need a Haynes manual, or the internet. The check engine light is on. If you do not have access to an automobile computer, just flip the key ignition on and off 3 times leaving it on the 3rd time. The check engine will blink like Morse code. It will pause in between blinks giving you the second number etc.

I purchased a used 1988 light blue colored Sundance in early 90s. Had a Dodge Shadow before it that I liked but was only two door. In 40 years of used car purchases, that Sundance was actually one of the best cars I owned. Only put new brakes and tires on it. No problems at all. Only traded it when it got close to 100k miles. Seems that was always the time to get rid of a domestic auto, mostly cuz you just knew transmission was going to be problematic. Enjoyed the time travel watching you resurrect that heap.

Nah, these mid 80-early 90's small cars are getting popular with the teens and 20 something kids to build into cheap/budget JDM Style builds that they can drive while they build, there's a dozen or more of the Sundances/Shadows alone running around out here in the Southwest Triangle. My Cousin teenage son has a 91 Shadow that he is almost done and he's got less than $1000 into it.

That car would be a GOOD start to what the teens and 20 somethings out here in the AZ/CA/NV Triangle are doing, building cheap, budget JDM style cars, there's a dozen, maybe more of them in the Laughlin/ Bullhead City/Lake Havasu/Needles area, and they wouldn't care that it's a 4 door. My cousins teenage son has 91 Shadow that he paid like $150 spent maybe $300 getting it running and driving, and has been driving it while he fixes up, I'm going to paint it for his weekend with a custom mix of John Deere Yellow and International White Tractor paint. He's got MAYBE a $1000 into this car, including the paint and it's going to look amazing when he gets it done.
