Its all about having your own technique in throwing your own punches, people dont have to do everything by the textbook if their punching technique doesnt require them to. Thats why when you see a manny fight its not like watching any other fight that you have seen many times before.
Pacquiao's jab deserves more credit than it gets. Doesn't really show much of his range with it in this vid but come fight night he really knows how to use it as a traditional jab to keep someone at bay or to measure for his left, but it does damage too. Not a lot of people can say they have power on both hands let alone with that much speed and tenacity.
Specially considering that so few southpaw boxers have good right hand jabs. And his amazing footwork makes up for his relatively short reach: the guy can cover 5 feet to land a jab and immediately get out of the pocket and set up a combination. He's great.

thats a combination of genetics, good diet and growing up in the mountains of Mindanao, walking for miles and miles everyday to school when he was a child, going up hills, carrying loads...then starting training when he was very young...you cannot get like that just doing silly "leg weorkouts" in the gym. There are also uphills in our place and I love going to top non-stop. Also, I was a delivery-boy before, I used to transport LPG's and cases of softdrinks using bike with side-car. I'm pretty sure it's biking, my former schoolmate has the same calves as mine, he is into biking too. Some people just can't believe you can achieve bigger muscles without steroids. Try to live as a poor man here in the Philippines, you'll understand what I'm saying.
