I've been in love with Starcraft and Warcraft 3 since childhood. I'm supporting this project in Kickstarter and I can already feel the butterflies, I truly hope to fall in love again with an RTS, work hard and make all developers and players proud.
A bit hard to take the collector's edition on christams season, but I definitly backed you on this one. First, because I need a beta access as soon as possible (doctor's order, I have a RTS deficiency, pretty serious condition) and also because the more support and exposure you get, the more we can show than RTS is not dead, and is the most exciting genre in esport and gaming in general :D

Considering how the kickstarter is mooning, have you considered adding some more items to collectors edition (perhaps as another tier), such as artbook? The game actually has some nice art (like unit designs) and a combination with, let's say, explanation of your vision for RTS games and history of Stormgate development would be great.

I'm curious which way they're going to decide to go with their narrative campaign. I only say that because the art style will detract from anything serious, tbh. StarCraft 2 had a slightly cartoonish style, but their cinematics were always gritty and dark - everyone loved that. I suppose as long as the game is good, maybe the rest won't matter?

@@TheBrunov2 there are a lot of features that are nice. Like hitting w selects all your "barracks" buildings so you can just make units without going back to them. It is very convenient
@@TheGayRepublicanIcon IDK, this is a common thing and a lot of rts have this resource like age of empires, you just have to configure a key for barracks, stables, archery range or select all... StarCraft also have it, Beyond all Reason, etc.
@TheBrunov2 nah, sc2 has a way shorter time to kill which makes looking away more punishing. This isn't quite as slow as wc3 but it's definitely longer than sc2

I was wanting for an rts based on the doom universe where the UAC fights a demon invasion.
This will be good.
As a seasoned gamer, I would like to offer you some advice. Firstly, do not let corpses automatically refresh and disappear. What you need is a feeling of corpses and blood sea, which can be referenced from Total War or Epic War simulators. Secondly, adding a building destruction system can be referenced from British companies and battlefields. It will definitely give people a more shocking sense of war! Fighting in the sea of blood, at the scene where corpses pile up like mountains!
I really really hope that the 3rd Faction is some Warhammer 40k Necron-like ominous Death Robot AI that is trying to wipe out all life to prevent the Infernals from getting enough resources to destroy the Galaxy. Some real Thanos the end justify the means type of stuff!

I genuinely thought that Warz was some kind of double-voiced character, maybe he had some issues I dunno. That "Will fall" transition to the original voice of the Simu Liu was so badass, that I just assumed it was how the character really is.
I was in the first phase of the beta test and only recently got around to experiencing the second phase (it opened December 5th). After checking out the second phase, there was significant improvement in the design compared to the first phase. So if you are like me and were worried about it looking to cartoonish, dont worry. I am confident they will continue to improve design until launch.
I love how you are guys are not only trying to make a RTS for the hardcore audience but also one for the more casual player. As I get older my competitive gaming days seem further and further behind me, but the lore you are building with this game actually seems like it can be interesting. Plus the fact that you are really opening up to the modding community I cannot wait to see what cool tower defense games modes we get this StormGate!
I've never been into competitive play myself. Polls have shown as well that most people played co-op or campaign and a lot of these games have been focused on the 1 vs 1 crowd. I think that's one of the biggest things holding back RTS for years.
@@geneanthony3421 I agree with you, 1v1 is great for the hardcore player but that does not seem to be the majority.
I am happy that they are making a ton of options for Co-op and story content for this one though.

well as someone who played aoe1 for over 15 years and became a really expert player, I also played sc2 what is important to me as a player :
-Micro-macro eco in the game relies on timing ...
-tempo +kite ...for units extremely important
-maneuvers.... outflanking...ambushes...gaps to use ...
-simplicity ...and units value .....( in aoe 1 for example unit has its value better than aoe 2 units die in a second against a castle or tower )
-map and terrain advantages as a key role to fight for... not just battles and fighting unit games
and many many things such as if u could get auto-flaws by mastering the game or not?
-if the game easy to understand but hard to master?
am looking forward to play this game and i hope it will be one of the great :d

Not much of a RTS player. I just play campaigns. I hope this this turns out great for a casual like me.
Hopefully they create a race like naga in campaign BUT it can be played in multiplayers n customs not like naga whr they can only be chosen in customs that include the race
Dude Holy Shlt, Space Naga… that could totally be the third race. I wish they would have 4 races in StormGate.
@@Wil_Dsense well it is in development rn, Whos to say they won’t. The only thing for me is the naga cus like i remember naga in WC3 TFT is unique compared to the others so i want for it to be a playable race in multiplayer not just customs 😊

jus stick with SC2 itll blow this away by 1 million miles.
I just hope that modding will be available to the extent of what's available in starcraft 2 or even greater. It's truly rediculous, people are coming up with their own campaigns, stories, modifications to the campaigns with or without saving the narrative of the campaign, modifying cinematics, using coop commanders in campaign, custom units, models and abilities etc etc. It's a steep learning curve for the editor, but once you get it, you can do so many amazing things.

Am I the only person that finds the fonts/written segments of the trailer unappealing? Imho this choice makes it look "cheaper" and outdated.
This is going to be a very fun game to play and I can’t wait to play this for hours. I wonder what the third faction is going to be. Maybe robots or cyborgs? It sounds dumb but it might end up cool IMO

I agree, it’s pretty generic. But if you look at the industry, it’s riddled with remakes. Remakes are safe. This is their first game and unfortunately I feel like they had to play it safe. They are counting on the Warcraft 3/ StarCraft RTS nostalgia. I’m excited for it but hope it will be less generic in the future.
@@Solarbeard I'm still looking forward to the game. While you can tell FGS knows what they're going with game design, I really feel like the trailers are just not where they need to be.
If I showed this to one of my non-RTS playing friends there just isn't anything that would intrigue them enough to try the game.
Hopefully they do better because everything else about the game looks great.

I've been making maps in wc3 editor for 15+ years, I hope the editor resembles Warcraft 3.... it's too good. I also enjoyed Starcraft II co-op, please be good.

I want to believe Stormgate can be as great as Starcraft 2 or even surpass it. I played SC2 in multiplayer now for over a decade and with the Stormgate team staffed with some of the big heads that went away from Blizzard, I just want to believe man. The RTS genre really could use some fresh wind :O

What? WC4 cnc and what is SC2? This dev team is doing a terrible job. This game looks worse than Starcraft 2 from 14 years ago in terms of gameplay & those cinematics are beyond Terrible when compared to SC2.

I really wished they used a Todd McFarlane spawn approach for the demons. I think they are too cartoonish. but otherwise looks awesome. gameplay is the most important and they have that covered
I was one of the first pics for the betas. I played first phase and just tried the second (it was open since dec 5th but I was busy) and I must say the design has definitely improved. So I wanted to take that back because they are obviously going to be big design changes by the time its launched.
Will definitely play it, but I fear from what i'm seeing that it might not make such a big splash. If I compare it to the hype I felt seeing the starcraft II trailers long ago. But the proof is in the gameplay I hope.

I dont know if people think this is good or not but ihonestly hope u go for the smaller armies of warcraft 3 with better micro and skill usage instead of a macro APM machine if starcraft where u just throw a bunch of units at peoples faces endlessly and injures ur arm.

I am looking forward to the game, but so far I have to say: Please fix the graphic style....and also some of the units responses. Rocket hellion sounds awful imo.
I like the idea of a new-gen rts from the old blizzard crew, but still can't accept the visual style this game has. Looks like a sunny doom for me idk
Same. I am being more and more appreciative of centralized, big companies the more I see where “crowd funding” projects are going. Sometimes you just can’t beat AAA quality (and not just the graphics btw)

I really hope they do something with the sc franchise. I don’t understand the hype around stormgate.. and ive alreay seen a few hours of gameplay (lowko). The hype is obviously there… i just don’t see how it’s better than sc2. I guess I must sound like the brood war players when sc2 came out.. it is what it is

How is noone complaining about how terrible this game is compared to Starcraft 2 from 14 YEARS AGO?!?! Go watch any trailer from SC2 it utterly anihilates this game to infinite oblivionnn
