Bang Bang Prawns recipe (GF)
Feeds 2, 15 min prep, 1 hour total including marinating the prawns.
Ingredients:
• 500g prawn meat (or shell your own prawns)
• 250ml buttermilk
• Cornflour
• 300ml flavourless oil
• Salt and Pepper
• Sriracha
• Kewpie Mayo
• Sweet Chilli Sauce
• Cabbage
• 1 cup rice
• Optional: Spring onions
Sauce mix:
• Combine ½ cup of sweet chilli, ¼ cup kewpie mayo and ¼ cup sriracha in a bowl and your sauce is ready.
Directions
• Add the buttermilk to the prawn meat in a bowl with a light grind of salt and pepper and let them sit for around 30 min.
• Cook 1 cup of rice according to the instructions on the packet.
• Once marinated, drop the prawns in a bowl of cornflour and coat them evenly
• Heat up some oil to 180deg and fry the prawns for around 2-3 min or until they are slightly browned (they will brown up more when you take them out of the oil).
• Place the prawns on the bed of rice with some cabbage, sauce and optionally some spring onions. - Jak na to + styl

Dad jokes rock. My son got me a few weeks back. One of my favorite guitar players is Robben Ford. My son said: "Dad, did you hear about Robben Ford getting arrested?". "No I didn't! For what?". "Car theft". Long silent pause, while I'm trying to figure out why on earth Robben Ford would steal a car. Then my son clued me in with "You know, robbing a Ford".
I like how you only use ingredients you can find in supermarkets. I like this simple non complicated. I would love to cook from your ok. 😂The Dad jokes made me laugh.

Been brewing my own Porter for a number of years now. Great with a hint of coffee in it, or a small chilli. That and my triple chocolate stout are the faves. And Dad jokes (in my case, Pop jokes) never go stale…

Everytime I buy a bunch of spring opinions I cut them up straight away and keep them in the fridge in water, that way you can grab whatever amount you for anything without cutting up half a spring onion
There are differences between prawns and shrimp (but that discussion is best for a different channel). For most of us it may simply be a matter of cost between pre shelled and veined shrimp (ready to cook) vs fresh or fresh frozen shrimp. Lets stick to the major topic, great video and recipe. Gday Harry, I really enjoy your videos and understand where you're coming from making your recipes supermarket friendly. It's worth pointing out though that in modern Australia there's always plenty of small independent stores that worth always worth visiting and supporting.
Eg; there is a chinatown in Broome, it's not always a hipster store.

If you want to travel with lettuce, try cos lettuce. It travels better and has the advantage of being great eaten raw in salads and sandwiches but also can be cooked up as a veggie side dish with a bit of chopped prawn, oyster sauce and a pinch of chicken stock. I think it may have been a good choice with those yummy looking prawns.
