I struggle with over thinking which leads to me ultimately giving up. Especially when most sketchbook tours are just the most elaborate drawings, so this was a very nice reminder to just draw what makes me happy and what i see I’m on my day to day.

Beautiful work! It takes a lot of time and energy to fill up a sketchbook. Your composition skills are amazing- I love your eye for what looks good and what layouts work. These are skills that are WAY harder to teach than technical abilities. Your determination and effort is very clear! I personally love seeing art like your style. You called it "childlike" but I think it's cute and refreshing. I can't wait to see you improve more technically, but I hope you don't lose what makes this art great: passion. :) Great work! I can't wait to see more!

I found a lot of encouragement watching your flip through! My favorite page is actually the one of the sharks and fishes from the sea life park. It’s just so cute!! I have always wanted to be able to draw on paper what I take as a photograph. Maybe this will be my winter hobby to start and if not I think I’d like to try it as a new hobby in 2024. Thank you for the inspiration! 🙂
Do you have any beginner sets you can recommend for watercolor/paint, color pencils or drawing pens to get started? 🙂
I also look forward to sketching more this winter! Mixing colors is a challenge for me so I love Winsor and Newton's watercolor palette, Miya Himi gouache, and Copic pens. I just use a regular pencil to draw. Hope this helps! :)

Dear Mei, you did a great job. I hope you always continue and we can see your work. There is something I'm curious about. How Can you spare some time in your busy life? There is a lot of pressure on me right now regarding my job. I cannot spare time for my hobbies due to the many tasks I have to finish. Every night we just look at the materials I bought.😅 thank you for sharing your life parts with us. It's so nice to be so far away from you and yet feel so close.
Aww thank you so much for your kind words 🥹 As for your question, I quit social media last year. I only kept this YT channel. It is the one thing that gave me so much time - to read and to create art. I also wake up before 5 am and make art in the morning. I hope this helps :))
