  • This is a video made in January of 2017. For some reason, people could not view the video. So, I deleted the old and re-uploaded it.
    This cover mixing your elevator to your flaps so when you deploy your flaps you can adjust the pitch of the plane.

    Good video. informative and useful! Can you tell me how you setup your mix for the nose wheel to stop steering when your retracts are up. That information would be greatly appreciated.

      Set up an aux channel for your nose gear steer. Then set the switch that turns the aux on/off to your gear up/down switch. When you flip the gear (up) it will turn off the aux channel, which is your nose gear steer. Let me know if that makes sense. :)

    Not the subject of the video but since you mentioned it... Nose steering is mixed with rudder. But when gears go up, nose steering is centererd regardless if rudder is applied. How do you do this?

    • @dagtheaviator
      @dagtheaviator  Před 2 lety +1

      I have two servos used. One on rudder, the other on nose gear. I then mix the nose gear to the rudder with my radio and have the mix on my gear up switch. When I flip the switch it shuts off the nose gear steer, which centers it. :)

    Good stuff

    Would you have an answer to this Important question? How to reduce elevator servo Speed just
    With the Mixing of the flaps? Regular elevator function should Not be affected with a Slower servo Speed? Does anyone have a Suggestion for Programming ? Thanks christian

    • @dagtheaviator
      @dagtheaviator  Před rokem

      My radio has a servo speed adjustment. Each servo can have it's own speed. Some, servos can be programmed to run slower. I hope this helps.

      Condition delay under the flight conditions menu. While the servo is
      transitioning from one condition to the next, and you move the stick while its moving the servo will only move at the speed you have selected until the transition is complete. For me it's not a big deal. But for example if you required a large and slow control serface change
      between flight modes it could get you in trouble.

    Your video on mixing elevator to flap was great. I too, like to mix. I slow down the speed of the flap servos to a slower rate. My question is. Is it possible to slow down the rate on the elevator servos to match the flap rates with out affecting the basic elevator movement.
    Thanks Dan

      Thanks!! I am not sure about controlling the speed of a mix being applied. I have also wondered myself.

    Iz is really same as the 16sz I saw your vid and I do understand the p mix, I guess my question is will I be able to trim the elevator for each flap position while in flight if I do the p mix ?

    • @dagtheaviator
      @dagtheaviator  Před 3 lety

      I use my mixes for flaps, and then mix in the elevator to the flap for each position. If I set flaps 20, then my elevator trims down about 1 degree. Flaps 40, then the elevator trims down about 2.5 degrees. I hope that helps. :)

    I have a T-18SZ and for the life of me cannot figure out how to change the travel of flaps on the SB switch. How does one simply change the position, NOT a mix of ele to flap, but change the throw of the flaps on the 3-position SB switch?

    • @dagtheaviator
      @dagtheaviator  Před 3 lety +1

      In the mix you can set the center point which will be your "Mid" travel point. I think that is what you are looking for. :)

      I am not familiar with the "IZ"? I will make a more detailed video on how I set up flaps and the mixes. :) It may be a few week though. :)

    Thanks for sharing!! Any chance you can show how change the function of the switches, from ex 1-0-1 to 1-1-0 that would great!! Thanks 😊
