I am so sad that Kari has never had a birthday party before but I am glad you helped throw her one! The sweet 16 party made me so freaking sad! Love that you did the 43 gifts tradition for her! The decor is so pretty! The hat is awesome! Aurora is so sweet! Kari is going to love the basket! The horse ultrasound was cool but an 11 month pregnancy! Her reaction to everything was so sweet! So sweet that the colt was born on Kari's birthday!

Happy Birthday Carrie! Everyone deserves to have their own special day and I'm glad you got yours. The 43 gifts reminded me of the one time I gave my best friend 25 gifts for Christmas and decided that it was a good idea to wrap them the night before. I would TOTALLY recommend just using bags or a nice basket like this, because the amount of time it took and the number of paper cuts I got....never again! She loved every single gift so it was worth the effort as I'm sure Carrie loved hers!

Happy Birthday Carrie :D Ohhh I love your little bay foal that has gorgeous grey goggles and super black legs :D :D :D Wonder if it will be a fast one to grey out or slower? I had one with a blaze like that out of a grey paint mare by my cleveland bay stallion and he was grey by 4 months, and by 2 1/2 yrs was super super grey all over! He is now a 9 yr old pretty white grey land whale! lol
You look like you have had an awesome party - and congratulations on your new foal born during the party - and yeh I'd agree there whole heartily - close enough to due date that the vet having an arm up the above passage would have been enough to set things off ... with your care I am sure he/she will be fine.
I LOVE the little grey foal just crashed out tired there with the kids patting and stroking him/her - its absolute magic isnt it to be able to sit and just chill with them like that. :D
Again - Im so glad you got to have a brilliant birthday and that one of your dearest friends and her family and your hubby got it all together for you.
I turn 50 in September and have no clue what I want to do for it, I have told the parents NO Balloons though. They can get ONE of the thick ones that dont pop as such, so I can keep it as a keepsake - and nothing thats going to cause rubbish or that they have to clean up - ie: dinner at a pub will be fine - everyone pay their own meal and no presents. Unless they want to give me a horse or a pony! lol

On the horse breeding farm I worked on we had a foal born a month early and he did fantastic - his nick name was Witman ( like Witman samplers) - we had mares go up to 3 weeks early every year and the babies were fine - what a neat birthday gift
