looking to get a newer tundra sometime in the next year and this is the exact set up I've been looking into. Not a kayak fishing person, but hunt and enjoy the outdoors. I love the versatility between the rack and decked system. Thanks for putting this video together.

I like that you have the option to mount to the slide rails. I would hate having to remove that.
Yup no holes to drill and it’s really easy to remove the racks and leave the base on the truck.

I like the Decked system, but I want to be able to stow my luggage in the bed so I can retain the back seat for my pups. I need the luggage to stay dry and secure, so I went with a tonneau cover. Got the same Yakima rack though.
Nice yea we use totes for all our stuff to keep it dry and use a bed bungie net that attaches to the trucks bed tracks to keep our stuff in the bed.
Are you gonna do the diy rod tube for your yakima? It’s basically 6” diameter by 8’ long schedule 40 pvc and the Reese conduit kit
I have one for my kayak trailer. I doubt I’ll do it for my Yakima rack. I typically store my rods inside the hull of my kayak.
Awesome vid... what is the width side to side on top of deck... can 2 kayaks fit side by side?
Thanks! The width is 71" you can put 2 kayaks on top, however one would almost have to be on its side. Which is the main reason I load both kayaks on top of yakima roof rack which can hold my rod box and 2 kayaks then my bed is still free for other stuff. Hope this helps.
what size are the tackle boxes you have in the right drawer?
They are Plano 3600
When you lower the over haul all the way, is it flush with the top of the cab? Or is it a little under the cab?
I have never lowered it, I just take it off completely when I'm not using it. From just looking at it I would say it would be lower than the cab.

Did you lose access to your electric outlet in the bed?
Unfortunately my Tundra doesn't have that feature. I'm sure theres ways around losing it if you do have one.
Any cons/dislikes of the decked storage unit?
Nothing with the system itself, but you’d have to buy the boonedox T-bone XL if you still want to throw a 12ft+ kayak in the bed. Other than that I’ve been loving the decked system for hunting and fishing. If you have any specific questions just let me know. 👍
