- I've been really looking forward to getting my hands on this model and its just as good as I hoped. I was particularly pleased when I looked inside to see how easy it is to sound fit! theres plenty of space so you're spoilt for choice really when it comes to speaker fitting. I went with two of the 25x25x7mm megabass speakers wired in series with SWD sound.

Like this new style of video Richard. More please bud!
Good sounds. Would like a bit more of a how you have wired up the speaker and chip
Hi Richard, brilliant sounds from this set up it really captures the 25 and yes this sort of video is very helpful especially for people like me who are just finding their way with sound. Thanks Phil.
yes totally agree more of these very nice to see you at work Richard great video thanks for sharing 🙋♂️😁👏👏👏
Sounds very good Richard. That's excellent the way you show fitting procedure first. Very useful indeed. Vivian.
The horns are wrong on the sound file chosen for this model sadly, the soundset chosen by SWD was recorded from a 25/0 or 25/1 hence the BR Style low tone horns, the 25/2s and 25/3s all have the very unique sounding horn like that of Legomanbiffo and Jamie Goodmans sound chips that were both recorded from a 25/3, a 25/3 would of never of had these style of horns but apart from that the sound install sounds ok.
Was thinking the same, the horns on the 25/3 are massively different, engine sound and note is also slightly dfferent. Jamie Goodmans would be perfect for this loco.
Brilliant Richard! Definitely more of these videos please.
Hi Richard
Liked the video, loco looks great and sounds great with the set up you installed, nice.
Great video. Thanks for the addition.
Great video, keep doing them!
Great video - I’ll get my order in tomorrow morning!
Sounds fantastic Richard, nice and throaty on acceleration, nice job there, definitely like how you show your installs , cheers Darrell
Nice video, the 25 looks & sounds great👍👍👍
Great video, looks like a relatively straightforward install. Think I’ll order this set up for the Heljian. Just fitted the SWD to my Bachmann 25 so be great to have the pair!
That sounds pretty nice RIchard. I'll have a play with the Biff new file and a different speaker set up and see how they compare. Simon
Liked the vid but would be interested in more detail of wiring etc.
Fantastic 👍👍
Yes I would like to see more of these videos, but could you show what you wire the speakers 🔊 to as I’m new to this sound kit thanks 👍
Thanks, I can definitely do more on that next time. There's a basic guide here www.roads-and-rails.co.uk/pages/speaker-wiring-instructions these are 4 ohm speakers wired in series
Looks like a cab light on or is that just light bleed from the head code box Richard?
@@vcs00railway Its the way the model is designed unfortunately. The headcode LED is mounted to a micro PCB which also contains the cab light on the rear side, it is fed by one power feed, meaning that when the headcode is illuminated, so is the cab.
Thanks, bit disappointed of Heljan given the RRP, perhaps makes the new Sutton Loco works worth the money
@@vcs00railway does seem a bit odd, even the 128 which must have come out 10 years ago had independent cab lights, so they can do it if they want to
Hi Richard, thanks for a useful video. We’re the speakers wired to the decoder directly or are there speaker pads on the model?
Hi Richard, thanks for a very helpful video. I believe the speakers you have used are rated at 4ohm, would I be correct in assuming you have wired them in series?
They are yes, I was worried it might make the volume a bit too low but it’s still nice and loud
Thanks for confirming. The sound is very good and the volume seems plentiful.
Disappointed, would have liked to have seen how you wire up the two speakers in series and connect to chip.
There’s information about that here www.roads-and-rails.co.uk/pages/speaker-wiring-instructions
What stay alive would you recommend for this?
I'd use the Train-o-matic SPP-N
@@roadsandrails so once I solder the wires to the decoder do I need to do anything else?
This is what i'm doing.....but i won't show you
