Depends heavily on the way the dog is raised and the individual dog. All those videos of "demon chihuahuas" are from people that hit their dogs and yell at them. Or there are kids around that abuse the dog so it learns to growl thinking it's going to get hurt again. In my experience, friends' French Bulldogs behave the way people online say chihuahuas act even if you raise them right: spooked at everything and chronically nervous, constant barking, biting toes/ankles, constant whining and separation anxiety. Oh and ugly.
