Very cool old 1962 Studebaker Hawk GT for sale. This Hawk starts; runs and drives beautifully. We have receipts showing an engine rebuild in 2011. It has a new rear main seal and the generator was swapped out for an alternator. New tires were installed not long ago. The suspension, braking, clutch and shifting all feel excellent.
Rare configuration with a 4-speed manual transmission and working, ice cold air conditioning. Finished in its original Ermine White with the less common red interior.
The exterior is clean and presentable. We're not sure of the age of the paint but it has a nice shine to it. There are no rust/rot areas anywhere on the body. The trim looks nice, mostly original with what looks to be refinished bumpers and grille. The glass is nice as well.
The interior looks to have been redone very nicely. The panels, headliner, seating, dash, gauges and trim all look great and it's very comfortable. It is highly functional as well. The radio, wipers, horn, heater, gauges, switches and lighter all work. The air conditioning system works flawlessly and blows ice cold.
The car runs smoothly with no smoke or funny noises and has plenty of power. Typical of the Borg Warner manual transmissions in these cars it occasionally pops out of 2nd gear on deceleration but since 2nd gear isn't a cruising gear it isn't an issue.

I saw one of these on I-65 in Alabama yesterday. I recalled that Studebaker sponsored the Mr. Ed television show. The actor who did the commercials always said the name of the car in a manner that made me think for a long time that the model was a Grand Tourese Mohawk.

I’ll have one of those. A 1962-63, turquoise or white, automatic, air, antennae. I’m looking 👀

Beautifully styled car. Had Studebaker had a more modern production facility that could have lowered the cost of production, they had the style to be a player.

The thing is that the GT Hawk had a low enough purchase price already. The MSRP was all of $3,095 which was $1,300 cheaper than the Ford Thunderbird.

Studebaker sold these cars in Australia as CKD units allready made up as Right Hand Drive .Studebaker closed down ita assembly plant in West Heidelberg Melbourne in 1965. we never got the 1966 model.

One of these beauties was sitting on the lot of a Mercedes dealer for years in my hometown. Is was black with a red interior. I was in high school (late 70sl) I'd like to know whatever happened to that gorgeous creation

One time I was shown a car that I fell in love with! I was told it was a 1962 Silver Hawk. Is there such a thing as a Silver Hawk. I am aware there is a Golden Hawk

The silver hawk was gone by 1962. By then, only the GT Hawk remained.

You need a automatic, you cant drive without resting your left foot ion the clutch pedal.
