    I once had a COLUMBIA34 and used torque of the asymmetric propellor to manoeuvre docking between docked boats but your system is by far more BRILLIANT.

    That is some cool handling, you look very calm! Great instructional video too! Thank you! PS, after watching how you build the boats, I want one. So guess I will have to save a little more money before buying a sailboat. More expensive than other similar sized boats, but you get what you pay for.

    I have a 25 foot sailboat, I'm not sure if i should go with this one or 310 DS. Except for me and my wife we like to bring our friends with us and we hope to have 1 or 2 children in the future, I believe that 310 DS would be enough but 35DS is spacious and in our company we might keep WFH even after the pandemic, in that case livling 6 months onboard would be a nice option.

      You are most welcome to come and explore! We can also bring you in contact with owners near to you to see their yachts and exchange experiences. Both sizes are stunning as they offer about 6 feet more internal space due to clever use of space in two layers. So the 310 easily compares to a 37 feeter whereas the 35 DS offers the space and functionality of a 41 feet yacht. If you like to contact us via mail I could also send you an exclusive video wich compares the 3 sizes and a picture comparison between the 310 and 35 DS

    Great design..just need some review on ocean performance and I am sold. Where can we see this in the US?

      Thanks, they were especially developed for blue water cruising and rough weather conditions, and always have been! There have been an number of curcumin-navigations on older yachts even. Some Atlantic crossings. Recently a 40 DS was collected by the owners in Germany and sailed straight back to Vancouver via Canary islands, Caribbean, Panama Canal, Galapagos, Micronesia, Hawaii. A second one just arrived in Barbados. I personally can´t imagine a better concept than a deck saloon for blue water and extended cruises.

      here is some generall information and test verdicts about the performance of the 35 DS: This are solidly built boats so not on the racy, light weight side but the hull/keel/ruder/rig design is as a modern cruiser/all-rounder/comfort in heavy weather/fun to sail design should be in our picture. The 15 or so sailing magazines testing her had obviously been pleased: Yachting Monthly: „Is this the best boat ever built?“, "It`s the highest score we’ve ever awarded, by some distance" (still valid), "the Sirius 35 DS is the best cruiser he’s ever tested.“ "8 out of 10 points in sailing performance(Chris Beeson), Bootshandel: “I was totally awestruck by the small tacking angles we achieved. To convince myself, I checked the results by tacking over and over again. She tacks through less than 80°", Palstek: “The Sirius 35 DS is not only convincing as a high quality, seaworthy and well equipped cruiser, but also is agile and easy to handle even in strong gale conditions. She is a well-controlled sailing boat with a surprising potential for speed.“ There are more test verdicts in our brochure at www.sirius-werft.de/wpsirius/en/yachten/35ds/prospekt/. I hope you will have a chance to experience it in the future for yourself. You are very welcome!

      You may have noticed that we have been at the Seattle boat show with a Vancouver based 40 DS which have been sailed home by the owners from Germany earlier in 2020!? We also have launched a new Sirius 35 DS in Montreal in Spring 2020. We hope to be able to have it for the Annapolis United States Sailboat Show once, but please contact us directly if we could organize a meeting for you with one of our US/Canadian owners. You are of cause also very welcome to visit us in Germany!

    Usually a sirius gets delivered with the Winch-throttle. Can it be delivered with this type of throttle as well?

    • @SiriusYachts
      @SiriusYachts  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes, sure! All our boats are made individually after the owners requirements. Has been done both ways several times

    I have been taught that you shouldnt go from forward to back on the engine the same instant. Is that not the case?

    • @esquire9445

      He seems to be pausing on neutral for a moment. The volvo penta saildrive clutch and inner gear selector are designed very well... German Engineering. Also, these engines designs have been the same for decades. They don't put electronics and other stuff that breaks on sailboats. Everything is robust and reliable.

  • @easterncapeexperienceonlan5940

    Would love to know the price. I know it must depend on the options, but let's say "price starting at"?

    • @SiriusYachts
      @SiriusYachts  Před 4 lety +2

      Because the comments stay on here forever and over time and both price and specification are subject to change, we've decided only to give the current prices on our facebook page: facebook.com/SiriusYachts
      She also comes with an extensive 'standard' inventory which can be found here: www.sirius-yachts.com/yachts/35ds/
      We hope that helps?

      Well, we try to find some unoccupied boats to do it, as many owners seem to feel the same ;-) …but be assured: …on every test sails all people on board, including kids 10+, will do this manoeuvres after a short instruction and within 10 min as good as me! The boat makes it really easy!

      Frank can you tell me why ships expulses a jet of water on the side? I have seen it all my life but I dont understand why is that :( In this case the water comes out from a short tube it seems

    • @strangelee4400

      Marine diesel engines use sea water as coolant. Sucked up with and impeller, pumped round the engine and expelled through an exhaust.
      Is that what you mean?
