  • Why Does Venezuela’s President Appear on the Ballot 13 Times? | Vantage with Palki Sharma
President Nicolas Maduro, the incumbent seeking re-election in Venezuela, appears 13 times on the country's presidential ballot. The tactic is a way to capture the attention of voters in a country where elections are rarely free or fair. But Maduro is facing one of the biggest challenges to his decade-long stint. Can he continue to rule the country? Palki Sharma tells you.

Him appearing 13 times on the ballot paper, i believe, is legal in his country, I dont think we should dwell much that. After all, in some other countries, one can win the presidency without winning the popular vote, and thats perfectly legal there

Will this be Juan Guaidó 2.0? Where Venezuela winds up with two leaders: one recognized and backed by the country's military [Maduro] and the other, powerless but backed by the U.S. and its friends

What does the Venezuelan elections have to do with you? Instead of criticising Maduro's dance moves, talk to moodi about those friggin dresses he wears.
