We saw a "monal" at the zoo a few weeks ago and the iridescence was incredible! However I'm always surprised how much subtle iridescence there is in birds like magpies. I'm just starting out painting and birds seem to be my favourite to paint 😊
I just had to look up the Monal, not a bird I have heard of and yes, what amazing iridescence! Have fun with those watercolours, plan the colours you will use beforehand on some scrap watercolour paper. 😉
Another great painting Paul, had a first time attempt at a water colour, enjoyed it but have a long way to go. I suppose as long as you enjoy it the more you do the better they become.
You are off to a good start Colin and you are right, you will improve over time. The main thing is relaxing and enjoying the learning process. Nothing very rarely goes right with a painting, and we always seem to spot mistakes that we make. But that's ho we learn, and we never stop learning. 😊
