Woo girl minute: my husband was offered a really exciting position, but it would move us cross country. So I, for fun, started applying to positions out there. Within a week, I was offered the PERFECT position that is the combination of all of the work I’ve been doing for the past 8 years and actually is recognizing the work I’ve put in!! (Mental Health Care is a very thankless field) This recognition is just exactly what I needed to pull me out of the burnout I’ve been feeling!! Still unsure if we’re going to take the leap (it would move us from OH to the Anaheim, CA area!!), but just on cloud 9 thinking about it all!!

Omg I vividly remember the night when I was a kid not being about to sleep and going to my mom crying “I don’t wanna die” when I realized that I, too, will die one day. Glad we all had that realization in our own ways 😂
What Ryian was saying about being scared to ask questions is so real for me. My family was horrible with that! I'm now a librarian so I can answer any question without making people feel dumb.

The way I straight up snorted when you were telling about Grace responding “and then I’m going to die” to someone telling her she’s getting so old. 😂 it caught me so off guard. Kids candor is the best.
A teacher of mine was telling us a story that one of the ladies in the office at some other school told the principal (their school was going to be taking a trip to the zoo) that there was some manger or someone from the zoo that wanted to speak to him who is named "Ellie Fant" 😂 He called the zoo and asked to speak to Ellie Fant, and after repeating it a few times she told him, Sir, I believe you are being pranked 😅

Woo girl moment: I have bipolar disorder and in 2 weeks I will have finished my first year of college. I never thought that I could do it, but I did!! I ended with a 4.0 gpa

Yall should do an episode about the topic discussed at the end!! I love this!! There is so much shame people make you feel when you don’t know something that others may know. But we all have such unique experiences.
1. The mention of considering guests has me giggling and kicking my feet! I would love to see y’all chit chat with other creators, the pod is definitely at the point where you’ve established it strongly and would do so well with guests!
2. Twenty Whatever merch?? PLEASE. Y’all have to get it out while we’re still in the previously mentioned twenties lol. I just turned 28 in December so we’re all around the same (getting old/death is imminent) age, gotta get that merch soon 😅
3. Speaking of ages, this podcast was one of my favorites so far since launch. The topics of being present, taking care of yourself, and learning as we grow older are SO RELEVANT in my life right now I just felt it insanely relatable. I liked that this was technically your “catch up” episode but because of that ongoing theme you’re each experiencing, it still felt more structured like your other episodes.

Sierra i had a 2020 baby too. So pregnant during pandemic and new baby who was premie so we didnt see any one. The hospital let me and hubby in that was it. No one meet her until after she had her firet round of vaccines. I just had another baby in 2023 and it was so different. In such a good way

As both a raver and Shrek lover, I was so excited when I got tickets to a Shrek rave and I went and let me say. It was one of the worst events I have EVER BEEN TO lmao the DJ was so trash and the visuals were literally disturbing, it was weirdly brightly lit and nobody was dancing 😂 my bestie and i can have fun ANYWHERE and we did not even last an hour 🫨 such a let down lmao would not recommend

I was 7 when the movie ‘My Girl’ came out and I remember watching it and sobbing, I haven’t watched it since but it really stuck with me as a beautiful but tragic reminder that life is fleeting and that death is a part of life

I got my mom good this year. We work together at the same job, I was working overtime on April 1st. I call my mom in a panic and go OMG mom IDK what to do! I accidentally deleted our team shared folder. She goes WHAT??????? Can you undo it?!?! I go IDK IDK!! She says WELL GOOGLE IT!! So I say OKOK Well ok so it says on April 1st the folders reset.... and she goes OMG IS THIS AN APRIL FOOLS? My mom would do edits to snow white, Aladdin, and I can't remember what other movies.... But it was VHS tapes! Like that woman had the exact fast-forward times memorized for each movie she was editing. I was pissed when I found out as a teen that she had done that 😂 now as a parent like I kinda get it but at the same time my husband and I would rather have discussions with our kids about the scary parts of movies

My last name is Hawks. I do not work with hawks but my boyfriend does have a chicken farm so still birds still close.
It would be interesting to hear how some of the Disney stories were conceptualized and if a child development counselor was consulted at all. Someone had to know that death would be a hard concept for a range of ages of children to grasp. I wish we could protect kids from seeing these things on screens until they are older.
