I went the other way with my 1980 caddy. Full 1.9 n.a. diesel with big tall tires and posi in the diff. Lifted for off road use. People trip the hell out when i take it off road and never get stuck.
I had a rat eat into wiring to the dome light. It grounded my battery to the body and swiftly drained the battery at .03 volts. I ended up fixing it, after having to undo some of the headliner I had just installed.

Could anyone tell me if I could upgrade my 1980 vw caddy automatic transmission for a newer one that would fit. I can’t find a one of the same year.

No air filters is lame.
Needing boards to drive over a crack is lame.
Camber on solid rear axle beam is lame.
Please if your gonna be putting work like this out, take more time on the prep and bodywork because the paint work is applauding due to it
