- hi everyone!! I have some very exciting news, I am getting a new guinea pig!! In preparation for the new piggie, I am building a DIY guinea pig cage out of c&c grids, leftover midwest grids, and coroplast. The next video in this series will be me bringing my new guinea pig home :)

⭐ What do I feed my guinea pigs?
I feed my piggies oxbow adult pellets, 2nd cutting timothy hay from small pet select, and a variety of vegetables. I feed sweet peppers every day and rotate romaine lettuce, red and green leaf lettuce, cilantro, and parsley. I feed the occasional carrot, cucumber, and strawberry. I also supplement with oxbow vitamin c supplements and oxbow digestive support.
⭐ Where did I adopt my guinea pigs from?
Peanut and Marshmallow came from Petco, and Pepper was adopted from the Frau Holle Guinea Pig Rescue in South Carolina. If you are looking to adopt a guinea pig, I recommend a rescue or a locally owned pet store, as guinea pigs there are often more well taken care of and kept in more suitable habitats. Some chain pet stores receive their pets from unethical breeders, and they may even have illnesses when you adopt them. Marshmallow had a respiratory infection when I adopted her from Petco, and I had to return her in order to get her free vet care.
⭐ What do I use to edit my videos and make my thumbnails?
I edit with Adobe Premiere Pro, and use the apps Phonto, PicsArt, and Lightroom on my phone for thumbnails and overlays.

you are not lonely about being horrible at building c&c cages I took 6 HOURS to build mine
yes c&c is so hard!!! This took me a couple hours and I obviously didn’t include it in the video but I even cut my leg with a box cutter 😭😭😭 the sacrifices we make for our pigs lol

Why can’t he live w the others r they not getting along?
I’ll explain more in the video but it’s an older pig who’s never lived with other pigs before, so I want to wait until I can make my main cage bigger to bond them all together. And I’m moving to a new apartment in august and will be able to do that then. You are supposed to quarantine new pigs at first anyway; so she’ll just be quarantined for a little longer

Building a cage is so tiring and frustrating. It looks easy and it's not! I was so relieved when mine was done and now that it's built, changing things around isn't nearly as hard.
I’ve started to use fleece in my boys cage, and despite spot cleaning every day the cage still smells! Any tips?
Pee pads!!!! When I don't use those the cage is gone after two days :(
@@mika2720 how often do you suggest changing them out? And how many do you put in the cage? I feel they pee all over!!
I use them in the "hotspots", the corners and places where I know they pee a lot. And then judging on how they look I change them out every day to every other day.
I recommend using those water resistant matress covers for people that pee the bed as the waterproof layer. You can buy them at IKEA I believe for €15 or so. Cut them up for your designated spots. Then just sow fleece on to it. This way it will be absorbed but it won't leak through onto the bedding.

Coroplast is corrugated plastic and you can get at most hardware shops I got mine from Home Depot!
