    Hi Sir
    How Can I Draw this by CAD Programs

    Did you try your turbine outdoors after this test? My version (back in early 80's) was made with paper honeycomb and fibre glass... very crude construction technique compared to your work!

      +Bob Kelland This one never left the desk, since was is just a small scale model to test the angle of the blades for an under water turbine.

    why did you not put the vertical axis shaft in the middle?

      I thought it looked cooler without the axis. Maybe it would have been a bit more stable. However, the wiggling of the model is not because of instability in the turbine but in the small flimsy stand. Since the turbine was only a proof of concept and not a product I intended to use for long time, I decided against optimizing stability.

    Can you share your CAD file. I am interested. Thanks for the video, it is really helpful 😊

      Hi. It's too long ago and I don't have it anymore. There are lots of free similar 3D models out there. Try searching for "helix turbine" on Thingyverse.

    How u designed this turbine

    • @Hello.Henning
      @Hello.Henning  Před 3 lety

      I drew the profile of the blade and extruded it along a spiral curve. There are lots of video tutorials on how to draw/model helix turbines. I prefer to work in Rhino 3D but there is a lot of other capable 3D modelling software on the market.

    It will fly apart if it goes fast.

      It was just designed as an example - not to produce power or anything. In its lifetime, it will never rotate faster than it did in this video ;)
