I don't know what the argument is or why there is one. He was gay he told his mother who told his brother who put it in his book, Yea he used that word 'gay' and he also had told his defense lawyer that nobody would accept him and he felt great shame over being "gay" Aaron himself didn't use the word bi. He obviously was with a girl because A) he was emotionally invested in her and loved her and she had his back and she covered his secret, even if it was without her knowing it.. But she knew his secret whether she admits it or not. Deep down women know. He wasn't bi because in his own words that he used with family members he didn't use the word bi. But all of that aside.. Who cares. A lot of people live in fear of coming out or people finding out. Many men still to this day marry women to protect their secrets this is not something Aaron hernandez invented or perfected... Still this is a non issue he was a homicidal maniac. I think his father likely created a monster and with the CTE and the way his father viewed homosexuality and the machismo of the sport as well as bad decsions and drug use it was just a perfect storm to lose control of a mental illness. Truth is gonna come out no matter who you kill or how long you try to cover it up. Obviously he was still in love with someone as we now have records of jail house recordings telling ryan mcdonell that when he thinks about him he goes crazy and he loves him so much. Also the fact that he was recorded during a visit telling this man he loves him and reciting love song lyrics. This is not fake they did no force aaron to say these things on recordings he was very much in love with a man and who the hell cares... This is not enough motive or excuse for murder. Everyone is so afraid to idolize an athlete based on who they love. Doesn't impact how far they hit a baseball how well they shoot the 3 pointer or how fast they run the 1/4 mile. Men are men some are athletic some aren't. some are straight some aren't. We admire the achievements not the sexuality.. That being said Aaron is not a person to be admired even if he was straight the man was corrupt and evil even though i feel he was molded into his evil he still was evil. You shouldn't base de-idolizing him based on the fact he was gay. He deserves to be de-idolized because he was a monster.
