Yup, my mom has a medical condition that made her gain lot's of weight and she hated that so much. "I went from a model-looking lady, to *this* ." And it's almost impossible for her to lose weight (normally), she is an active person and I love her very much. And now a doctor prescribed her some shots that actually make her lose weight! we are both so happy. She wants to feel better, and this might do the job! And thank you for actknowledging disordered ppl like me! It's just as hard to lose weight as to gain it.
Hypothyroidism did that to me (gain weight and have an almost impossible time losing it.) But, changing my diet and lifestyle completely was the only thing that helped me. Ironically, going vegan is what made me lose the weight and be healthy. I was overweight and almost passing out just existing. Now, I can actually do stuff in my 30's and not feel awful.

What ticks me off the most about people is that they don’t stop and think. My mother has a severe problem with her immune system and had to take medication for years to balance it out. The medication, in turn, made her gain a lot of weight, and even now, after she’s done taking it, it’s still hard to lose all of that weight. I knew this from a young age, so I would be very protective of anyone who said anything bad about my mother. Even “yo mama” jokes almost got me sent to the office in elementary school. Now, me, her, and my father are trying to lead healthy lifestyles. I’m down 35 pounds (from 315) since December of 2022, and though my weight is so high that I can’t really feel the effects, I know it’s working. My parents started after I got some results, and they’ve both lost 15 pounds so far. It’s so frustrating for someone to comment on something I’m trying to change. And even if you’re not trying to change your weight, it’s still aggravating.

But I know some people- a lady in particular- who would have a very good workout routine which she never strayed from who always made healthy home-cooked meals, but she could never lose her fat/weight. So she got it surgically removed, and is doing great, but even all her strict habits she did for multiple years (and still continues to do, I'm sure) hadn't done anything at the time.

For example, I am yes overweight, before the pandemic (and my broken foot injury) I hiked, swam, and went to the gym almost every single day without changing what I ate. During that time I lost 50 lbs, but how did I do that without changing my diet? Because my metabolism is built to survive famines, the only way I can fight my metabolism is to exercise to the extreme.

Adding that on top of being overweight is no bueno. Being overweight is not ideal but as long as she is taking the steps she needs to make sure she’s staying on top of keeping her physics and mental health strong then that’s the best thing a person can do for themselves.

It’s pretty hard nowadays for anyone to really take constructive criticism which sucks because it’s beneficial, whether it’s positive or negative, we still learn from it. Literally dancing is a lot harder than most forms of cardio exercise because it involves every part of your body and the movements keep changing quickly so your body has to re adjust to each time rather than if you go for a run or something and it’s the same motion the entire time you’re running.
What also should be mentioned is that not all fat people eat a shit ton of food. Lots of things can cause someone to be overweight. Mental health. Like depression and eating disorders or feeling horrible because of assholes who say disgusting shit about their body. Physical health. There are medications and conditions that cause you to gain weight. Metabolism. It's a real thing, some people have a fast metabolism and are able to lose weight really quickly which causes them to have to eat a lot of food, and some people have a slow metabolism which causes them to gain weight easier and makes it harder to lose it. Some people just don't exercise. And money. Fast food and other junk food is cheap while healthy food is expensive. Not everybody is financially stable enough to eat right.
Years and years ago, I met a vegan and I was instantly like "Oh you must be super healthy that's great!" And she just says "I've actually only been eating Oreos for the last three months..." I shut up real quick about all vegans being healthy after that.

What ticks me off the most about people is that they don’t stop and think.
My mother has a severe problem with her immune system and had to take medication for years to balance it out. The medication, in turn, made her gain a lot of weight, and even now, after she’s done taking it, it’s still hard to lose all of that weight.
I knew this from a young age, so I would be very protective of anyone who said anything bad about my mother. Even “yo mama” jokes almost got me sent to the office in elementary school.
Now, me, her, and my father are trying to lead healthy lifestyles. I’m down 35 pounds (from 315) since December of 2022, and though my weight is so high that I can’t really feel the effects, I know it’s working. My parents started after I got some results, and they’ve both lost 15 pounds so far.
It’s so frustrating for someone to comment on something I’m trying to change. And even if you’re not trying to change your weight, it’s still aggravating.
I'm happy and proud of you for your journey tho!! I know losing weight and everything that comes with it isn't easy. So good on you for sticking to it!! Be happy with your results, no matter how small or big they are!

But I know some people- a lady in particular- who would have a very good workout routine which she never strayed from who always made healthy home-cooked meals, but she could never lose her fat/weight. So she got it surgically removed, and is doing great, but even all her strict habits she did for multiple years (and still continues to do, I'm sure) hadn't done anything at the time.

For example, I am yes overweight, before the pandemic (and my broken foot injury) I hiked, swam, and went to the gym almost every single day without changing what I ate. During that time I lost 50 lbs, but how did I do that without changing my diet? Because my metabolism is built to survive famines, the only way I can fight my metabolism is to exercise to the extreme.

Adding that on top of being overweight is no bueno. Being overweight is not ideal but as long as she is taking the steps she needs to make sure she’s staying on top of keeping her physics and mental health strong then that’s the best thing a person can do for themselves.
Be it as it may, at the end of the day you can't stop people from expressing their opinions, it's their freedom of speech, but it's your choice to ignore what they have to say. You can't just ask someone not to say something for the sake of your contetment, because that not how things work.

I get there may be those who feel that someone who seemingly isn’t taking care of their health needs to be told in a more “shock factor” kind of way, but at the same time people have to take into account that not everyone has the mental capability to take harsh criticism or feedback. It’s pretty hard nowadays for anyone to really take constructive criticism which sucks because it’s beneficial, whether it’s positive or negative, we still learn from it. I’d definitely want my loved ones or people around me to sit me down and say hey maybe you should start taking better care of your health or shed some weight since it’s not good for your structure. I’m all about free speech, it’s just for some people, it’s how it’s said that can really hit ‘em.

Literally dancing is a lot harder than most forms of cardio exercise because it involves every part of your body and the movements keep changing quickly so your body has to re adjust to each time rather than if you go for a run or something and it’s the same motion the entire time you’re running.
Weight training, and if you eat more calories then you burn you won’t see any change. Clearly.

What also should be mentioned is that not all fat people eat a shit ton of food.
Lots of things can cause someone to be overweight.
Mental health. Like depression and eating disorders or feeling horrible because of assholes who say disgusting shit about their body.
Physical health. There are medications and conditions that cause you to gain weight.
Metabolism. It's a real thing, some people have a fast metabolism and are able to lose weight really quickly which causes them to have to eat a lot of food, and some people have a slow metabolism which causes them to gain weight easier and makes it harder to lose it.
Some people just don't exercise.
And money. Fast food and other junk food is cheap while healthy food is expensive. Not everybody is financially stable enough to eat right.

My kindergarten teacher was really fat but she had a medical condition that first of all she had to take pills every were the pills had a lot of calories but also they would do something to her stomach so she would feel really hungry all the time but it wasn’t her fault and she was SO nice and kind and sweet!
