the band started in 2009 and josh joined in 2011 so it's been about 13 years of tyler and josh playing as a duo.
i love how they reference trench directly in the lyrics but also sonically sounds like songs from that album.
Tyler did confirm a video for every song and they've been seen a lot in Columbus lately filming
They do have a second single that just dropped - Next Semester
They did also put out a quick video right before Overcompensate called I Am Clancy that explains the story and would make more of the lyrics and video make sense if you watch it - just on your own time, not a reaction probably
It'll probably take a few listens/watches to all catch everything in this song and in the video. This is the first song off the new album which will be coming out in May. This album will be the conclusion of the lore that has been going on for a decade and through three albums. They put out a short video called, "I am Clancy," which recaps the lore to help you get up to date. They have already released the second song from the album, "Next Semester." They have also released the new tour dates and cities. I have my tickets already for NY -- I don't want to miss it.

Great commentary in twenty one pilots sounds and production. Nothing sounds the same yet it all sounds like twenty one pilots. Your right, they really own their style.

Its mostly paul meany actually. From what I've seen.
Tyler and Paul do the production and rough mixing. The final mix and master are not done by them. Check previous album credits.
It was written and produced by frontman Tyler Joseph alongside Paul Meany.
I am going to echo some of the other comments and say definitely watch I Am Clancy if you can, it’s basically a quick summary of the lore and story theyve created throughout their 10+ years of music. The thing at the end is something that they can use to like take over someone’s body. It’s crazy how much there is to it.
Regarding the song, I honestly felt it was a little too messy for my liking, there was just a lot sonically (maybe because it was more focused on storytelling and lore than some songs are). Still incredible artists regardless.

Paul Meany from MuteMath does a lot of production work with Tyler since the Trench era. Am no expert but that has to do with its mixing, yeah?
Final mixing is done by Adam Hawkins for TØP. Tyler does what’s called the rough mix. Mixing and mastering are usually done by professional sound engineers as it is very very technical. It’s what gives and album a cohesive, balanced overall sound that will work well in all formats.

Tyler and Paul Meany are co-producers on this album. I’m thinking mixing is different from producing, right?
