I think you nailed it. I'm a little older at 66 but fully still punk, alternative, indie lover since 1979. At first this album bored me compared to their earlier works but the sounds are tremendous. The production is great. I'm not a fan of Clottie or Lottie now sounding like Billie Eilish. I prefer her normal voice. This is an album that will take a few listens to dig and really enjoy, which is good. I give it a solid 3.5 out of 4. They're still the best all female band since L7.
it definitely does take a few listens to fully unfold, but i love that element of the record too!! also rosy jones uses they/them pronouns and identifies as non-binary, just so you know!
