VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Keith has a unique build and a sentimental perspective of his DIY 2009 children's Ambulance. When you look around the interior, you see the remanence of Sesame Street characters that had previously entertained the youth that had spent time in the rig. Respecting the rescue services and the technology that goes into these vehicles, Keith chose to keep most of the storage, electrical, and detailed accessories.
A small door connects the cab to the living space to lock for extra security. Besides shore power, Keith installed solar for more energy and has DC to DC charging while driving. In addition to the basic layout, there's also a cassette toilet and indoor/outdoor shower with a pass-through nozzle! His peaceful outlook on life is refreshing and brings a new light to living tiny on the road.

Are you considering an ambulance conversion? If so, this is a prefect example of using the stock shell and making it into your tiny home on wheels!
It's fantastic build, very well-thought-out ... but leaving the Sesame Street characters on the walls spells pedophile creeper van to me.
@@kayceegreer4418 I'm sure you would know. Creepers know the own right
@@nobody1a well, that sure was a lazy and asinine accusative insult. It's called suspicion, not guilt, dumb@&&
Think What You Want. I Love the kid things. Makes it Fun!
@@kayceegreer4418 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The most organized and well thought out remodel I've seen thus far. I'm a Paramedic I spent a whole bunch of time in an ambulance. You've done an Amazing job on your unit. Beautiful
Thanks for being their for us when we are in need!
And you know dang well those rigs are never really clean, no matter how hard you try...
Keith is very organized and creative, but also a caring and thoughtful person. It's sweet that he kept the Sesame Street deco as a souvenir of his home's past life, and to delight his inner child. Happy travels!
No way to get laid with cartoon stickers

Thanks so much for this tour, this one has a personal connection for me. My daughter, now 25, was saved by an ambulance similar to this the night she was born premature. Weather was not ideal to fly her, they sent a mobile unit from the children's hospital to get her at the rural hospital we were initially rushed to. It saved her life. If that weren't meaningful enough, that beautiful, healthy 25 year old now serves as an EMT for the very service that saved her life. Every story is important.
Sir, I'd like to say this: thank you for keeping the authentic children's decals, and the heart of what makes the history of this ambulance so special. I'm sure many lives were saved during its medical use. I hope you enjoy many years of travel and adventure in your home on wheels.
Glad you could relate to the reasons why OH tj and things worked out for you!
Thanks for sharing your story. Greetings from sunny Jamaica.
needs more dragons and shit, bit boring otherwise
This former Pediatric ICU nurse loves how you have made this your home and honored it’s history as well. Safe, healthy and happy travels to you!
Yes, the teams in the ICU know this so well and the work they do to ensure we get to have another day can't be over-emphasized!
Love that he kept the cabinets and all the other stuff that came with his ambulance.
This guy is all about quality. No surprise he installed a Victron system ;-)
I like it, kept it simple using the original design and engineering to fit his need.
Absolutely amazing conversion wouldn't have believed it possible
I absolutely love when people convert ambulances and box trucks, to me they are the most fascinating.
AMBORGHINI? Ha ha ha ha!!! Best name yet!!! Keith, you are a genius.
Fridge - The 12V fridges with the Danfoss compressor, are Isotherm, Nova Kool, & Vitrifrigo. They are more efficient for power, esp with that induction cooktop.
You did a beautiful job on the electrical system, bravo. That is the hardest part. I would love to see a video on how you updated the existing electricals. No one has a video on that - it is sorely needed.

This was such an emotional watch for me. The love and respect for those who designed, built and used this ambulance before it became his home is wonderful. An ambulance is such a logical solution for a tiny home. Great job!
Thanks to the team at Tiny Home Tours! We all appreciate the work you do!!
Keith seems like a sweet guy. I love that he kept the Sesame Street stickers and paid tribute to the families that had been in the ambulance. 🍪
So many people are in these every day around the world going through challenges. We (or me) owe a debt of gratitude to them and all the people involved in the process. Everyone is important. Yes, keeping Sesame Street to keep it light!
We dont have ambulances like these in India.. So, what you do would be inspirational thing for us.. It just opens a world of options.. I really liked the fact that you kept lots of systems and many reused to fit your requirements.. All in all, A Ver good build.. Congrats and loads of love from India...
Finally an ambulance build that keeps the ambulance! Great inspiration!
Thank you BD if East Van
I love his ambulance home, its so simple and clean. Not messy to look at from the inside and inside of it. Very functional! Good job!
Efficient, organized and CLEAN! 😍❤️
This is the closest to my own ambulance, and I love what he's done in his conversion. I'd really love to find out more about how he brought in his electrical system.
Love how the integrity of the bus was maintained
Now this is a wicked van for a small house build.
I like him and his outlook on life…you have a beautiful home Keith.
Thanks JustKidding....
Lots of great use of the original ambulance layout. This is how we started and used all the cabinets and accessories built into the amublance.
The way you left the stickers to honor the children and families 😭😭😭😭 respect to you, man, great build, I’m an EMT and I LOVE ambulances
Very nice rig! Love the ambulance, and how he integrated what was already there, with what he needed. Good job Keith!
Using the same cabinets and ceiling saves money and time. The bed set-up is also fantastic. 👍
Wow! Really well thought out. You really cannot get anything that would be more rugged than an ambulance but the weight might have negative effects on mileage and that is a huge concern these day's ... Cheers
Love the idea that you kept the Sesame Street stuff up, those ambulances were mostly used to transport children between hospitals, imagine being a very sick or injured child In a loud ambulance with all those tubes and wires and paramedics, so you have to imagine alot of very scared children got alot of comfort from those familiar characters while they were on a long ride. Jim Henson would be proud of you 👍🏻
Exactly Josh and they left the DVD player with Shrek in it. This was a comfort vehicle as well.
Nice to see a build that uses the original electrical. I was starting to think it was possible. Great job.
WoW! Amazing, great job. Thank you for sharing your space. Stay well and safe.🇨🇦☮️
Hey Keith. You did an awesome job sir. It looks great and very practical. I love how you used all of the original cabinetry.
I really like your outlook on life making your conversion a journey not a project. Project has a start date in a finish date but journey goes on and on and on.
Well encapsulated. The journey is the destination, Tom.
What a masterpiece 👍
I love the way it was built
The best ambulance re build I have seen. Inspiring video . Thank you so much!!!
Of all the different ambulance conversions, yours is my favorite. I love how you made minimal changes. Your philosophy and paying homage to the way ambulances are built, the fact it was a children's ambulance and the EMTs who worked in there to save lives... That hit me in my heart ❤. Thank you for sharing this to ur and letting ua get to know you. New subscriber. Simply awesome.
💛💛💛💛💛
I would have never thought of using an ambulance . My immediate thought was, are you kidding me. Lol, i love it !
Happy motoring.
Keith, I love how you think and prioritize. Excellent. I appreciate how you took the time to show the entire rig inside and out WITH explanations/descriptions. Your planning is so decorous and deliberate. It's inspiring. SO helpful! Bless your heart! Wishing you many diverse and delightful destinations. Can't wait to see what's next. (now I'm off to do some more planning on my ambulance camper)
First off I love your voice, so calming an easy to listen to. This somewhat of a remodel is fantastic. I love how you used so much of the existing ambulance, it has so much useful things like the cabinets, it would have been a shame to rip that all out and rebuild cabinet’s that wouldn’t have been half as sturdy. My favorite part is that you left all the stickers there.what a joy.
Thanks Leslie
This is a first class build. I just sold mine and looking to do another one. Great idea's.
This is the coolest ambulance conversion. Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful build! I'm impressed. Greetings from sunny Jamaica.
Fantastic home
Keith as they say I take my hat off to you much respect. I love the ambulance and glad that you have made use of much it had to offer. Best wishes from Scotland x
Thanks Jemima from Scotland~!
I love this guy's entire vibe
Great build! And also some great advice and philosophy. Ambulances look like they can easily turn into great campers, or other functions on the road (mobile office, art studio, video or podcast studio? So many options, and so much is built in).
Thanks to Keith and to Tiny Home Tours for this. Good tour, good build, and nicely edited and put together. A real pleasure to watch.
Nice you kept the kid stuff. Beautiful job on your remodel.
This is so thoughtfully and brilliantly done.
Wow blown away! I’ve watched so many van builds over the years and by far this one is the most organized and simply put vans I’ve ever seen! Gives me that push to go in a similar direction. Thank you for the video it was amazing and I’m kinda sad it ended ha
I've seen so many conversion videos where they tear out the custom cabinetry, which seems crazy to me, I'm glad you kept yours.
I agree.
I want an ambulance camper. Definitely using this as my blueprint
Not fancy but highly functional!
Great video, Keith did great job describing everything including his outlook on life in general! I am saving this video for future inspiration!
I really like this.
Wow what a fabulous job, everything is so well executed and looks like it was built around your needs, the electric are 😍 well done Keith
Beautiful and an amazing outlook. Thanks for sharing!
Good job
This looks like over all pretty easy project. Great simple build
Great philosophy.
I love this ambulance build! Thanks for sharing!
Wow, Keith. So thoughtful. Also the suggestion "where do you want to be and work back wards". Excellent advice. From an RN planning for early retirement.
Yes Ann! Thank you for caring for all of us.
Thank You Sir. Keith ..
Out of all the Re-Builds of Tiny/Van-life Home's
YOURS is #1.
You have opened MY Mine ..
Thank You.
You're welcome, Laura.
OK that is absolutely the highest kitchen countertop I’ve ever seen.
This is one amazing RIG...I love his set-up and his ability to move around freely w/o being cramped or confine to small space. LOVE IT!
This really hit home for me. Keeping much of the original ambulance and remodeling to suit what your end goal is. Thanks so much. I'm looking ahead and seriously thinking about an ambulance.
To the guy who owns this ambulance: If you don't cook fish on a high temp, it won't stink. We cook fish at about 275 degrees F, in a parchment pouch with herbs, butter and white wine and it's delicious. You could do a parchment pouch too, but put it in a pot or pan with a little water and steam or use a steam basket--low and slow--no smell, moist tender flaky fish. YUMS!
Thank You, for sharing your amazing home.
The journey IS the destination! Well said!!

"Enjoy the process"
Very wise words. When we first moved to the farm in '94, the first half of the first summer was overwhelming. There was so much to do and, it felt like, so little time to do it.
One evening when we settled after supper in the veranda we realized we were exhausted, overwhelmed and *really* not having a good time. We decided on a re-boot. We took some time and established what our end goals were and worked, and re-worked a set of priorities.
One of the most important priorities was including together time during all the work time. As we were a double rotating shift-working couple with a toddler, it ends up that breakfast was our big meal of the day. The one where we were most often all three at home with the least time pressures. So we started planning more elaborate breakfasts. Not just a quick bowl of cereal and on to the workday.
It also worked out that we had approximately 3 days a month when both adults were off work, after Kidlet started school that fell to one day a month. "Family Day" became important and with it's own set of rules. We have to spend the day together, off the farm if possible, and chores kept to a bare minimum.
All this to say that life is a marathon, not a sprint. When working out timetables and schedules it is important to value alone time, downtime and family time in the schedule and make space for them. You might have an over-arching project but you still have to live your life while working on the project.
Well said Sue. Community and being together are paramount. Modern civilization can make us believe and often feel we need to check too many boxes. How about a
not to do list"? Sharing happy moments should be high on the list. =)
He is a great guy and I love that vehicle.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great job, you're a very resourceful person I would have never thought of using a Hula-hoop to take a shower. In addition, utilizing was already there genius. Wishing you many travels, health, & prosperity... Abrazos
I’m pretty sure I use to drive that exact NICU ambulance. Wild.
Stunning beautiful build.
Nice choice of batteries! You read off the capacity and I went "Oh damn he's using SOK! Heck yeah!"
YO!!THATS THE BEST Tiny homeI SEEN OUT OF THEM ALL!!MAN PEOPLE R SO SMART!!BUT WHAT ABOUT TRUE SURVIVAL IN MASS DESTRUCTION?
Awesome! Simply Awesome! I’m sold on the ikea bed… much better then my homemade slide I use.
I've wanted an ambulance for a while now. This one reaffirmed my desire.
They're well built for the long haul, Erica so it was one of the criteria considered.
Flipping beautiful
This is The BEST ambu conversion I've ever seen. Even better than mine. I love how you kept the stickers and most of the original structure. Your rig is phenomenal. Thanks so much for sharing your brilliant concept. Stay blessed and awesome.
He took the 'industrial look' to a whole new level. Just a bit too cold, and sterile to call it a home. Not my cup of tea, but if it suits him, good on him!👌
Very cool 😎
I like that Ambughini. 👍
Wonderful!
This is a beauty well done! 😍👍👍
This is by far the best rig I have seen, love it!
great build & well thought out. Seems like a very nice man & I'm sure kids love when they see the characters on the walls
We have a 98 model were converting and def every store we stop people ask or thank us for our service ... My wife is in healthcare and we also got ours to honor those whom save lives in them and on a daily basis ... We love ours two adults 1 kid 2 dogs 3 cats lol we all maintain and love our ambo
That is one excellent build. Love the way everything is repurposed! So many folks want to rip everything out of the ambulance…they don’t want it to look like one. I think that’s a shame. There are so mgreat features in them why wouldn’t you want to make use of them? But to each his own! Congratulations! Job well done! Happy trails, Vaya con Dios!!
Great build.Enjoy and travel safe 🎉
That's an absolutely beautiful rig love the way that you put that all together that is very very nice
I saw alot of ambo setup but this is so clean and very functional
Very cool!
Thanks for sharing stay safe !!!
i reallllllly like the see through overhead storage, and will be borrowing that awesome idea
I think that you are a wizard unbelievable job.......the way that you repurposed everything is totally amazing.every inch has been used to its fullest potential and for a 2009 unit it looks like brand new.......simply outstanding and breath taking........keep on keeping on
Love the idea that this ambulance, now his home, has saved a lot of children's lives and that he keeps the cheerful decals. I like the idea that it is already insulated. And that it has the lift! That could be a back porch with the two big back doors open:) This is making me want an ambulance:)
Amborghini! I love that!!! An ambulance is the best vehicle ever created and I am in love with them. They saved my life twice!
I want one so badly. Such a tough build and such fine quality. So nice to see this man did not rip out all the existing furniture and cabinets as they are high quality.
A very good idea to have a large fridge in there, as that is the heart of the home on wheels. Cook good food and store it so you don't need to cook daily. I would use a Danfoss /Secop compressor fridge that is 12V because these residential ones are power hogs, so while you save on price tag, you lose on power. They also have to be kept level, whereas the 12V compressor fridge does not - a huge advantage in uneven terrain travel.
It is not smart to put all the control switches right behind the cooking stove. I would move them. The induction stove- yet another appliance dependent on electric power, what is wrong with propane? Cooks faster on high propane than electric any day. Get a Camp Chef Everest at 20K BTU per burner and free yourself from electric. Cook outside, freeze most of it, and you have food all week.
I love the two showers - indoor and outdoors. Very smart place to put them as the shower area can dry out fast with the double doors open. Simple, and effective.
That is a comfortable bed with minimal expense and fast setup, another smart idea. I like slat beds a lot but I must say this is clever and easy.
Love the cabinets, they are the best feature along with the wiring system and power grid already setup.
I would redo the kitchen area - sink, stove, countertop - not very well laid out. But the rest is marvelous! Thanks for the tour!
I paid quite a bit for a shuttle bus.
Bought 800w of panels, with separate charge controllers, for each side. Victron multiplus, etc.
Shower, house plumbing, on demand hot water.
6 months later, a huge ash tree crushed it, as I slept with my doggo.
My life savings were not insured.
Now, I'm days from owning an ambulance, that my bus motor will fit directly into.
So will everything else I put into the bus.
I can't wait to start swapping things.
Definitely keeping most of the ambulance systems intact!
Is this a cool guy or what? Living his life to the fullest.
Well thought out.
