"But Cummins are uber reliable and bulletproof no matter the mileage" well taken care of they can last millions of miles....buying a cheap one..... 🤷‍♂️ maybe they never changed the oil for those miles just added more along the way.. maybe they were anal about oil changes for all those 200k miles but it still has 200k miles of wear and tear inside and out. Rear end trans seats etc etc lowering your sale value. Also they may have been a transporter with that tablet mount for gps

Just finished up putting a short block in a 6.4 today. If I were you I’d be praying that someone has already taken the cab off that truck. Cage nuts for the cab bolts love to break and spin. Pulling the cab is by far the easiest way to get the engine out. I’m all for swaps but on trucks they can become nightmares. I just worked on 2015 F650 with 6.7 Cummins and Allison trans. Complete nightmare. And Ford even designed it all to work “seamlessly”. I am by no means hating on swaps or saying don’t do it. But I’ve said this. Get a 6.7 Powerstroke, delete it, and be done with it. The 6R140 behind the 6.7s is probably the best trans out right now too.

Do some searching as the 5.9 cr Cummins in the 03- early 04 trucks is the strongest and have been proving to go 1million miles In the camper hauling industry where as the 6.7 has some issues lasting that time under harsh conditions.
