I'm 37 yrs old and I have no problem paying for music. but my adult and teenage kids thinks I'm crazy for paying for music this generation thinks everything should be free that's why they don't value anything

I'm apart of the generation you're talking about. No body I know has a problem buying music. I think people 30+ years of age generalize younger people too much. The older generation is starting to sound like the "angry old guys."

I agree with Rico completely! The issue is we live in the day in age of the "Movement"! If it doesn't come with a large movement young people don't get it. The reason is that social media moves and shares movements. An example of this would be Beyonce: She created an album to appeal to the women empowerment movement. Without people realizing that this CD and movement was a total set up. Great business behind it but people fail to realize that it was a created situation. The fact that everything happened in that way was planned. Then people overlook how many songwriters there are behind it (around 55 people wrote the Lemonade album)! The artist behind the music is being lost and instead the promotional aspect is being uplifted. That is why I'm against hyped up music! I find myself listening to older music because it reminds me of the time when I used to go to F.Y.E and listen to a song and purchase the CD instead of streaming the music. Don't get me wrong I love Spotify but I pay to listen to old catalogs. I'm proud of what Rico Love is doing but its just a different day in age and like he said record companies need to adjust and give songwriters what they deserve!

I think the problem with music today is.... These labels are selling the dream of being famous. I think when ppl hear these wack songs, they aren't buying into the artist cuz they think the artist are truly talented, I think ppl think "hey, if they did that, I can do that too". That's my theory

very true. all these streaming being counted as album sales is BS. if you go platinum in a week with streams alone you would make less money than a person selling 300k physical albums
